Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

It's more a decision based around how the stayers shapes up, and how many of the real contenders are still in the mix.

If Klassical Dream and Flooring Porter are definitely ruled out then that may just about sway them to have a pop, especially if all the top mares are still standing too.

The sensible option is to run in the mares as the ground will be pretty much normal and it's tried and tested.
The doubt about her keen nature will nag away a little if they get tempted for the stayers.
So I think this race would have to be without 2 or 3 of the top of the market for them to actually run.
Yes the opposition may influence connections decision, ironically flooring porters participation would make me more not less confident....

worst case scenario with no FP

Maries.....why are we going so slow
Nico.....just chill out and don’t worry about it
Maries ....can you sort them out
    Nico...there’s nothing I can do
Maries .....this is really fucking boring I’ll do it myself
Nico I told you you should have just chilled

    scenario with FP

    Marie’s....he’s alright isn’t he
Nico....yeah he’s the two time reigning champion
Marie’s....I’ll have him at the end though
    Nico....yeah I know you will
Maries....so where are we off to next

      Yeah, I think I'd concur.
I just hate the way she travels for a stayers hurdle. But I agree that every time I expect her to fall in a hole she stays on just fine, so no reason to expect any different over further.
I do prefer a behind the bridle type though.
There are some nutter stayers that just keep going, so conserving energy is vital.
But - on the evidence we've seen the keen nature she has doesn't seem to take up much energy.
Unless she gets even more excited around boys

My experience tells me it will be the boys getting excited, the girls just get more defiant

            • I'd rather a run for my money than a no show like but be a bit disappointed if it was, as would mean Mark Walsh.

Surprised if she has been as the owners were talking about breeding and possibly not even running this season.

Seems a strange u-turn one month before the festival and her shot at open Grade 1 glory (albeit open mares).

                      • Honeysuckle given a really low rpr for that Irish champion hurdle run, if accurate surely is lne of the worst priced favs right now?

She's probably run to around 150 there and similar low 150s in the hattons grace

Don't think that'll be good enough to win this myself

Doubt it is accurate. If it is then they are basically saying both Vauban and State Man to a lesser degree have gone backwards.

Low because the race essentially was a sprint so it’s not particular solid form with the field covered by 7L but separated by 20+ on ratings. Sectional upgrades get used in these scenarios but it was pretty meh.

Interesting that rumour on the track according to Calvin was that Vauban had missed some work and wasn't where they wanted him...
