Studfarm254 ....Im currently thinking the mares hurdle could potentially be brandy love v honeysuckle v epatante v Marie’s rock, which would easily be the best mares hurdle ever. If come March TMSG has won the mares hurdle, I’ll not be angry, I’ll be disappointed....(Your post from Mares chase thread) I just wanted to reply to your post but thought i'd bring it in to the mares hurdle thread.
Now I totally agree if we get the 4 you mention turn up for the race in march, plus the likes of love envoi, queens brook and shewearsitwell it could well be the best mares hurdle yet. But it certainly wouldn't easily be the best mares hurdle ever.
I'd take you back to the 2020 race where the first 5 home were rated 158,162,151,152,153
Take in to account the 158 there is honeysuckl, then this years race has the potential to be as good, maybe better but surely not easily the best???
Edit- i'd add maybe this was the year trainers realised the mares were at an advantage in races against the geldings, or at least equal with the allowance. Honeysucle, BDD and roksana all raced in open graded races in each of their races before the mares hurdle that year. Irish champion, Galmoy and the relkeel hurdle
