Dandrew99 to be clear mate, the only thing I thought was suspicious was that it took me to mention the Punchestown quote, more than a page into the exchange, for the poster to put it up as ‘information’. If you go back and read over the last few pages, that is a little odd to me.

Yeah that's fine, like I said I'm not having a go at anyone. Let's face it, we all have the same goal here, to get reliable information. To do that, we need to make sure we aren't scaring people off from posting in the first place, and also ensuring the information we do get is legitimate. Both important parts, but just felt like people were a bit too quick to judge in this particular instance.

I think before the Constitution Hill thing, people would have given the benefit of the doubt and maybe not gone in quite so hard. I totally get that, I backed State Man as soon as I saw the news. Luckily I managed to cash it out as I always suspected that one was dodgy, but it still annoyed me. Just don't want to see this place become some sort of angry mob trying to validate information any time someone posts information really. Really all that was necessary this time was one person asking who the source of the information was.

I feel like if you act based on someone who you don't really recognise on the forum who is offering information, you can't really lay blame anywhere if it goes wrong.

Without wanting to be disrespectful, a poster with minimal input all year posting 'in the know' info, over a poster with thousands of posts and that we 'know' would make me do more due dillegence beforehand, and if you don't agree then fair enough but I won't be arsed about the moaning.

For example, is Istabraq or ComplyOrDie posted something, I'd act immediately as they have credit in the bank.


Whilst I agree that people should post what they 'know'.... and I don't want peopel discouraged, there are certain levels expected if wanting to pass on that information.... a source, and if no source given, a pretty solid reason as to why not.




It's not a lot to ask, we're not twitter, it's a relatively small group of like-minded indiaviduals working towards the same goal so we should be able to all be on the same page. I'm not asking too much

It doesn't even have to be someone outright trolling either, they may be just being stupid/careless and interpreting something slightly incorrectly and then passing it on as Fact by the way they've communicated it in words.
