What is it you see in her that makes you think a better gallop won't suit her more ? - Cos I think she'll be even better, you can just tell.

And what is it in Gala Marceau's run style makes you think she'll get closer to Lossiemouth at Dublin or Cheltenham, given the course layouts of both. ? - She is far too keen going for me, and they rarely relax overnight.

She's the best of the Irish by a country mile IMO. (well, at least around 10lbs )
Gala Marceau took a fierce hold at Leopardstown, pulling for much of the race, yet still got within 7 lengths of Lossiemouth. She must have wasted loads energy and I expected to see her drop out the back of the TV so I think she has got serious ability if/when she learns to relax.

She took a keen hold in her first run over hurdles in France but settled much better next time when held up in last. Leopardstown was off an eight month break so she can be forgiven for being a tad fresh. We'll know more nto for sure but it wouldn't surprise me if GM turned out to be the best of the two.

Actually thinking about it, the Aintree juvenile might suit her best. Just got a flashback of what Apple's Jade did in that race

        • Lossiemouth gets beat by Goshen reborn anyway doesn't she ?

Was so impressed by Jupiter for one so young. Not 4 until June !

Think I'll watch his race back again.......for the 10th time. Jet Powered.........my arse.

            Yeah.
I think it mostly suggests the rest of the runners in that race were rubbish or not bothered.
The biggest issue is the settling.
And Lossiemouth was only just getting going herself, the further they went the further she was away, but like you say, she may have expended energy with being keen.
Not a triumph type though surely ?

Maybe not a typical triumph type but I don't want her anywhere near the boodles - she's too good for that nonsense. Have you watched her French races? Her Autueil run impressed me a lot, she looked quality.

She's from the same sire as Vauban (Galiway) which is mildly interesting

Agree. The market support for GM was ridiculously strong when you consider how obvious the favourite was. I think GM opened around 10's and was smashed up in the hour before the race, into 10/3 in places.

I thought Lossiemouth’s French form was the more impressive of the two and nothing that’s happened since makes me think Gala Marceau will reverse the form at Cheltenham. And my moneys on the wrong one!!

I could be incorrect but my I remember the opening shows of around 11/1 were fairly soon dropped to 7/1. She was then backed in to the 5/1 a day or so before. Some money came on the day (more through the morning than the hour before) to bring her in to the 3/1 range. This was probably the correct price and the opening show the wrong price which wouldn't have taken much early money to change. I also recall the very late money shortening up Lossie close to the off.

I have GM at nice prices and as yet, nothing on Lossie but will be surprised (and pleased) if the form is reversed. I think it was much easier to see the potential for Vauban to turn the tables on Pied Piper last year than it is for GM to do so with Lossie this year.

                      Yeah I agree with that.
That said Gala Marceau does sit 10/1 second fav after her debut run for Mullins so perhaps there’s hope there’s some improvement to come…

For you, Rich, definitely not a case of:

Finally! Unless I’ve missed one, he’s the last of the big hitters to run.

Gust of Wind was supposed to have been bought by someone in Ireland (beat Jazzy Matty 29 lengths). Has anyone any ideas who the horse is with now?

He’s been sold but can’t find a registration for him yet.
