Tekao has only ran twice in his young life (once on the flat) and hadn't raced for 215 days so you would think that there would be plenty of improvement to come. Jazzy Matty is also very inexperienced having had only two runs (both over hurdles) so again you would hope he keeps on improving with racing. In contrast, the winner was running for the seventh time so much more experienced than the second and third horses.
Don't disagree with what you're saying in general here, just very easy in my opinion to be confident that the winner of the Triumph won't be a horse that's been beaten so easily on debut by a horse that as you note, has raced 7 times already... if Tekao gets to 'that' level, it still won't be good enough to win a Triumph will it?
Move on, I backed him too, bets gone

Just one filly winner since 2000, and that was when Goshen fell.
What's people's opinions on this?

However, the sample probably isn’t huge and it seems that Willie has changed is approach this year and bought three year olds that have already won over hurdles. This forces his hand to campaign them as juveniles as he can’t hold them back for novice campaigns the following year.
