It will be interesting to see if Gala Marceau takes up his entry in the Prix Cambaceres. One way if splitting them up and also testing some of those formlines, as well as seeing how good McTigue is. Not sure when the declaration stage is?

Lossiemouth keeps on being talked up as a nice horse. I suppose she could go straight to the Knight Frank. He's put Ha D'Or, Echoes in Rain, La Sorelita and Apples Jade straight into it before without a prep run. Lossiemouth, like La Sorelita, would have the advantage of at least having a run in France over hurdles.

Tekao has turned into a talking horse and will possibly be the maiden horse at Xmas.

Daddy Long Legs was mentioned in the RP stable tour as being seen later in the year. Will he be like Il Etait Temps who gets thrown into the deep end in the 3 grade 1s this year - if he wins then they've got a grade 1 out of him and if not, they keep him for a novice campaign.

Of the ones not mentioned in the stable tour, I've got the following notes for 3 year olds:

Risk Belle won at Auteuil nicely and Nantes. Form isn't much from the Auteuil race but the 2nd at Nantes is now rated 62kg. Potential Boodles as JP owned?

Blood Destiny finished 2nd to Bo Zenith on his only run. Maybe one for next year.

Joueur Masque won an AQPS flat race at Vichy - nice attitude. 2nd won grade 2 AQPS race next time. Next year?

There must be a load more as he was very active in the French sales.

As if Mullins bingo wasn’t hard enough already.

Tekao is definitely the one for Xmas in my opinion too.

I was a big fan of Risk Belle at of the previous hurdles winners he bought. But she’s been missing from the stable tours and that worries me. She’s not one that can be held back for next year so unless she’s had a setback, I’d expect her to run this season.

If GM runs this weekend that'll be 3 hurdle runs, enough to allow her to go straight to the Boodles if he wishes. Maybe that's the plan. Harder to work out her handicap mark based on French form. It's the reason I backed her TWAR as the Boodles seemed the obvious choice with her experience over hurdles already. Makes even more sense now after ZTB winning well yesterday and him also having Lossiemouth. Mullins does tend to favour sending horses to the Triumph who are straight from the flat also.

I don't think GM has been declared - not showing on France Galop as being declared.

Aghaboy has been declared by Mullins though.

The Mulryans own a French horse declared in it who is a maiden. Potentially one to move over to Ireland after - does Mulryan usually have horses run in France?

Anyone interested in Medyaf of Skeltons for this at all? I know not Irish so already a negative point but 2 from 2 stepped up to a listed race last time and won comfortablty, entered in the Triumph trial at the weekend at Chelts. 33/1 at a few places but only 25s with cashout at BFSB and not priced up on Bet365. Possibly a wait and watch one and try nick the price if bookies are sleeping at race time and he looks any good.

His RPR's recorded so far are well below the required level. Looks a tough sort. Reminds me of Langer Dan as a juvenile, so could be one they are lining up for the Boodles, possibly. He's showing a rating of 123 after 2 wins, which is not nearly enough for a Triumph. He'll likely have to go up a few to even get into the Boodles, too.

                    He's 4 turning 5 so won't be going here.

He's too old. Only a novice until end of the month too so will likely be a handicap plot if anything.

Was Mister Policeman not one Mullins said would probably be one for next season?

She looked a nice horse with a nice battling performance in the maiden but not mentioned in the stable tours is a worry (although a lot of his younger ones haven't been mentioned). We will see if she comes out in the next couple of months.

Should be a 130+ RPR for me, which is very good at this stage of the season, but I think they'll go slightly lower.
126 given which is too low for me. If the handicappers are thinking similarly, they could just hide him in some graded races now and get a nice mark for the Boodles if they think they've got one or two better.

Caldwell Diamond and The Big Doyen given higher marks - based on yesterdays performances, if they had to give ZTB a load of weight they wouldn't land a blow.

Vauban and pied piper put up 134s on debut last season..you would hope the winner will be of similar standard this season..the 126 is solid though

Much later in the season though and the 3/4 year olds do show solid improvement throughout the season.

If we look at the latest Down Royal winners (as they have been better than the past winners of the race won by ZTB, barring Jeff Kidder and Mitchouka):

Cougar was given a 129 at Down Royal on his second start, rising from 111, an 18 pound increase.

Fil Dor last year was given a 130 at Down Royal (debut) and improved by 8 pounds on his next start.

Quilixios given a 145 at Down Royal, rising from 133 in his debut in Ireland (he did get a 131 at Compeigne in March on his debut though the Racing Post have a habit of amending RPRs later on so I don't know if this was his actual RPR given in that March).

A Wave of the Sea was given a 140 RPR at Down Royal, improving by 13 pounds from his debut in mid October.

Couer Sublime only got a RPR of 114 on debut at Down Royal, improving 14 pounds next time out a month later.

Espoir DAllen was given a RPR of 124 for his Down Royal win, an improvement of only 2 pounds from his debut win.

126 on debut isn't too bad in the context of the others (better than CS and EA, 1 pound less than AWOTS and 4 pounds less than Fil Dor), and the above 5 (excluding Cougar) turned out to be pretty good juveniles.

I do think they've under rated the performance but we will see next time.
