That, of course, doesn't mean she can't win a Triumph first, just an observation and note I made about her.
Yeah, that's the note i made too. I haven't seen her French run in a while but remember being impressed by her jumping. Here she seemed quite big at the timber and lost half a length at some.

Agree with this down the line - Based on what we've seen so far in the juvenile division she looks much the best so far. Will be interesting to see what comes out of the woodwork

Tiger Roll would agree with the above

Don't think so but Paul did say he's still improving

It's interesting you guys think that. I wasn't watching her the whole way around - only at the last hurdle properly and the way she jumped that made me gasp it was so fast. I'd lazily assumed you was pretty decent the whole way around on the basis of that last jump so glad you've both commented so I can watch it back and correct myself!

Yeah she definitely pinged the last two. Perhaps it's a speed thing - some do hurdle better when under pressure. Be interested to hear what you think once you've watched it back.

Just watched it again. She pinged the second and the fourth or fifth as well as the last and the second last so not sure it's a speed thing, which I also thought it could be before watching back.

I'd have it down as more of a stride thing - she's smart enough to jump in more of an arc shape when she gets in close which is probably a good sign if/when she goes chasing but my god she's impressive over hurdles when she meets one on a stride. Very jealous of all you guys who have her at big prices, very jealous indeed

                  • Joseph seems to have a good few potential darts for this race off the flat this season. He’s already thrown a few already and has another two interesting juveniles entered up at Cork on Sunday. Realism is a 103 rated maiden and Goodie Two Shoes a twice winner rated 95.

If any of his flat horses really take to jumping then he could have a live one again come March.

I wasn’t against her jumping it just looked more suited to fences like you say Odin. Watching it back again she certainly pinged a couple too.

I appreciate that RPR’s aren’t everything, but 136 for a mare on UK/Ireland debut. That seems pretty Smokey. I think only bettered by Haut en Coleurs in the last 3 years … and his debut was in the Triumph which sways things a bit.

Am I correct in saying that RPR of 136 can be marked up to 143 due to the mares allowance? Thats very smokey if so!

Yup. It’s equivalent to a 143 when factoring in the Mares allowance. HEC scored a 146!

I checked Vauban & Pied Piper's hurdle debut RPR last year and both were given 134 so 136 for a filly is, as you suggest 'pretty smokey' .

Great to see the site back up and running.

How can it be "marked up" when they are getting allowances?

The performance rating is marked down because they carry 7lb less so when you add the 7lb allowance back on you get a rating equivalent to the boys (if that makes sense, and what I've said is actually right!)
