Willie will want to run Dysart Dynamo in the Arkle won't he, as it will give El Fabiolo a target again (will also help Jonbon too).
If he doesn't run Dysart then where will the pace come from? As it's looking like a field of about 3 or 4 at this rate.
No mention that he won't run him but surely a possibility he might hold him back for one of the other spring festivals.
He wasn't as keen as he was when he was a novice hurdler, but he still wants to get on with things, and surely that will not be possible at Cheltenham if he wanted to be competitive now.
Easy sell to the owners as well. In a couple of weeks he will say:
'He settled well in his first chase run. We've got him settled again at home. We will try him with some earplugs and that will get him settled before the Arkle... Yada yada yada"
Shorter distance will suit as well.
And as you say, he will help El Fabiolo run to his best.
Amazing from El Fab today. To win a race of that nature by 10 lengths takes some doing. He should be fav, it won't happen as Jonbon will win an egg and spoon kingmakers but there can be no doubt that El Fab's win today is the single strongest piece of Chase form going.
One thing that hasn't been discussed much at all was Banbridge staying on for second, that is a mighty fine turners trial in my opinion and he must go there with a massive chance.
Over to JDB and Mighty Potter tomorrow - cant have anything else in the race and prefer James at the prices.
What a days racing. Roll on tomorrow.
Banbridge basically ran his own race ignoring the grade 1 race that was happening and nicked second. Proper bandit behaviour. He won't win the Turners.
Embarassing. Love you both obv.... but entertain me
His run today reminded of the last time he was in top company- arguably for only the second time.
He flattered to deceive, runs well for a long way and stays on the one pace.
Hes up against it now I reckon as I rate mighty potter
Really think James Du Berlais is going to hack up tomorrow and put Mighty Potter firmly in his place, he just oozed class on his debut, and very much had the best hurdles form out of these on offer. The double green have some ammo to go to war with it seems this season! Deservedly so aswell, they put plenty into the game.
Watched the Arkle back again. No way does Appreciate It need a step up in trip. He was dead on his feet at the end of that. Should go Arkle but will be pleased if he doesn't as he's still a player for that. Turners.......nah.
He was dead on his feet because he'd run out of his comfort zone all the way round
Simply didn't have the pace to keep up
His problem was lack of speed not lacking for stamina
Not after that ride on Lossiemouth.........go with me.
Because another came back on top of him after making an error means he gave her a bad ride? Can't have that at all personally, just one of those things in racing, it happens.
