    • There are so many angles to this bet. Not least that Danny Mullins has publicly said he thinks AI should go Turners. Now is time to prove that, Danny boy!

I have some cracking mults with DD at a big price, and a couple with Jonbon at good odds, and I have a DD (A) / AI (T) double too, placed a little while back. So could really do with AI not winning. If he wins he’ll go Arkle almost certainly. If he loses, he’ll almost certainly go Turners, surely?

So AI to win on Sat and win the Arkle is the bet, I think. Or NRNB on the Arkle as cover, I think.

I quite like his profile for the race. He's a come from behind horse so he's never going to win far and therefore his ratings are skewed. He's an improver over fences. His jumping needs to be better again but he's warming to the task. Let's not forget he's got a top Cheltenham festival record. County winner and Champion Hurdle 4th from two runs and beating Appreciate it last year in the process. He'll be scratching away behind the front runners and looking to pick up the pieces at the tail end of the race. Mark Walsh gets in very well with him too. Have topped up on him today before the DRF.

        • Lots of NHC hopefuls including Mahler, Crooner and Frontal entered at Fairyhouse next Wednesday over the qualifying distance.

          • Dysart Dynamo has drifted a bit over night for the Arkle. A bit being laid @ 7.2, yesterday he was a solid 5.6-5.8 on the exchanges.

PP/Betfair have also pushed him out 1pt in the Arkle market, which wouldn't bode well so close to the DRF.

It's worth pointing out that the same hasn't been reflected in the Irish Arkle market yet, if anything Appreciate It & El Fabiolo have drifted a little for that.

That is simple to understand though with Appreciate It running in the 2 miler with Townend on board.

              • With 8 minutes to go only 6 declared in the 2.5f novice at DRF from only 2 trainers

That's got to be only Willie and Gordo if it stays like that

Sounds like it doesn’t it. We know El Fab isn’t running and presume Gaillard Du Mesnil would be the other not running over that distance.

                    Hoping JDB is declared!

Ten up or have a break until the NHC if that is the plan?

Its another grade 1 and over 1m shy of the NHC trip. If he runs close here or wins he’s surely only going to the BANC.

I think this has been answered before but does a horse carry a grade 1 penalty in the NH chase ?
