  • Well Dan says Cheltenham only be considered if soft ground.
    No surprise there.

    • My opinion hasn't change on JWM in that he's a 3 miler at least.

Personally I just don't think he's very good

The way Henry has campaigned him over the last 2 seasons is just weird to me, it seems like the general consensus to every except him that the horse in a 3 miler yet hes adamant hes a 2 and a half miler

I'd agree with that. Nothing really in his form shouts out that he is top class.

He’s still living off the fact that he got entered in the same bumper as Bob Olinger. He’s not a G1 animal

Also agree with that also. Was quite hopeful when he was a novice hurdler but he's not the top level.

Agreed. He could improve for a trip but on what we've seen so far, he's below the top table. His jumping has improved with every run but he just looks soft to me.

He's just below top class isn't he. Probably should have been targeted at a handicap in hindsight.

                      He's solid

Think he'd struggle to place in a grade 1 let alone win one

                      • Having stalked JWM for the best part of two seasons my gut is telling me it's now time to wave the white flag and let him go. The only thing holding me back is that surely Henry now realises he isn't going to win much at the intermediate trip and will now chance his arm at 3m.

How I'd laugh if I cashed out my BANC roll ups and the step up then saw him shine. I might just hold on for now...

In a similar place bet-wise, have him in a nice treble for the BANC offering a decent cash out, and not sure whether to cash for profit or just leave it on the off-chance. Need to dig deep into the BANC again and analyse his chances even if he did shine.

As someone else said recently, would I more gutted to miss out on the prize or lose a point

                          • I wouldn't cash out Journey With Me now with any BANC bets.... today surely cemented it as the target .... now you just have to worry about if he's good enough.... but definitely wait for closer to the time and look at the likely field.

Few should get thinned out over the next few weeks

                            • Appreciate it been pushed out to 5/1 to win the Irish arkle

Really seems like they think he's not going to run

                              • My general stance on Ballymore horses... harsh, but this is how I see the race

                                - The Ballymore is a second tier race, which from time to time is a race won by a decent animal. It caters for horses that arent good enough for the supreme and horses that do not stay the distance of the AB.
                                - The Supreme and AB are top tier, generating multiple grade 1 winners down the line. The Ballymore being for the odd-balls, they dont fit.. or are limited in their scope
                                - I would only take the ballymore winner out of the race for the following season, likely target which they have a fair chance of winning = Turners, which is another second tier race

So, for me.... JWM is a second tier horse. His trainers isnt firing, and I seriously cant see how this horse will be able to step up and win something like a BANC
