    • Still the Turners for me for JDB. Not quite sure he’d want a proper slugfest over 3m up the hill.

      • Lovely job. Needed that after a poor showing this Christmas. Yes he’s beaten trees, but slick jumping and did it easily.

          Very happy with his jumping

hopefully run in the flogas next

I can see them going from the front in the Turners like GDC.

            • He was decent.
Not sure they'll like the back legs action though.
Not so easy to land if you get one wrong when your back legs are skewed/flicking out.
              Ruby might mention that.

              • I'd say Turners after that. He should come on for the run as well as was getting a bit tired towards the end after so long off.

                • Enjoyed that from JDB. Won the way a 1/4 shot should, form doesn't tell us much but some of those jumps were spectacular. Given his best performance by some way over hurdles was over 3m, hopefully all roads now lead BANC. Maybe we'll next see him in the Flogas over 2m5f before 3m at Cheltenham.

                  • Turners to my eye. Looks like he wants to get on with it. Sure as hell makes the Arkle more complicated than it already was. And of course makes the BANC even more value for us lot as theres no obvious stand out.

Completely agree. Although I wouldn’t rule out the BANC. Willies stable tour said his jumping was slick enough for an Arkle. And also said the last thing he wanted to do was blunt GDC’s jumping speed by sending him over a trip too far. GDC also ran over 3m in his final outing over hurdles … I might be taking 2 x 2s and getting 5 however.

                      • Gaillard du Mesnil given a 151 RPR for his grade 1 win. Lower than his last 3 runs.

Anyone ever seen Ruby and Q in the same room? Some decent insight/observations of late Sir.

                          • With James du Berlais, the owners also have El Fabiolo. I'm sure they will want them both in different races so if JDB is a Turners horse, that will leave EF in the Arkle.

JDB's ultimate destination may not be solely up to his own performances if Willie thinks he will be equally effective over 2 and a half miles and 3 miles.

Yep. Either Turners or BANC. Favouring the former as he doesn't appear to have a big player for the race with Kilcruit disappointing and no sign of MC.

                                Looks worth taking.
No real star has emerged as yet so he could give a good attempt and might be hard to pass.
