  • I'll need to watch it back but they finished very tired in behind. Can't make out if they went too quick early or if the ground is a bit softer than advertised. Either way I think JWM wants much further in time.

    • Jonbon has everything for the Arkle, his seed of jumping will take a length a fence. He so clearly loves it. Will need to be something special to beat him. AI far better suited to Turners.

      • Unless I've missed it, I cannot see Sir Gerhard entered in 2m Beginners or Grade 1 at Leopardstown on 26th and 27th. Not in the 2.5m Grade 1 at Limerick in 26th either.

Dysart Dysart entered in both the Leopardstown races

Praying he's in the entries tomorrow for the 2m5f beginners on 28th at Leopardstown.

Willie said they were having problems getting him and vauban fit enough to run didn't he after the morgiana?

                I may have misremembered though

Yeah he did to that effect. Since then, Richard Thompson on ATR has said we'll see SG over fences in the next few weeks so I was expecting entries at least

I bet he wants him in the champion hurdle.
See how his others perform over christmas and then get on the phone to the Thompsons.

Saw a quote from Robbie Power earlier, not Henry [think he's Henry's race planner?]: “I’d say 2.5 to 3 miles is his game but his jumping needs to improve a little bit. He has plenty of stamina. He was a decent hurdler & hopefully he’s going to be a better chaser. Hopefully with confidence his jumping will get better.”

Wouldn't be surprised, especially with his nemesis Honeysuckle disappointing. Irish Churdle for him then.

In real terms what is this likely to translate to? That he can’t jump a fence or that there’s a fitness/well being issue?

                                Thanks Mighty
Just watched the race back and it's fair to say his jumping wasn't always slick but hopefully he will have learnt plenty from the run and improve next time.
To me there's no question he needs a trip but I got him wrong last year and HDB knows the horse far better than I ever will, but with some improvement through the air he looks perfect for the BANC to me...
