Can see him being a turner's horse myself

      • …..I wonder if Tenzing might be a fly in the ointment as far as Mullins horse for NHC. Finished well behind Gerri C and Bronn over 2m 5f last time, perhaps struggling with early pace but doing his best work late on.

He does look to have improved for a fence but based on Bumper/Hurdle form you'd have to say Ramillies is the better horse.

          • Willie on Ramillies....

'A horse who has always impressed us at home. He was a little disappointing over hurdles but looks more of a chaser. He’s ready for his first run of the season.'

Interesting that his best runs have been his opening runs of the season.

            • I've backed Ramillies cos of the price.
              But he's a bit shit really isn't he ??
Looks exposed as being shit/bang average.
His maiden hurdle is awful - 35 subsequent runs from all of them and only one has won, in a handicap off a rating of 87.
Then well beaten in midfield twice in grade 1's.

He could improve but he needs to do loads really.
              50-1 is fair enough though.

His price now for this race is very short.
It's bizarre how he was still 33-1 with B365 on 26th November.
He's now only 14-1 with them and as low as 8's with Paddys.
                    For doing jackshit.

Ran a big race against The Nice Guy first time up last season. Would have been closer had he not made a hash of the last. Mullins has always liked him, works well at home. Needs to improve and show it on the racecourse but chasing may help.

Seemed to get further away every time he ran against him after that though
So has about as much substance as my stats on his maiden win

The odds have been truly bonkers this season.

If willie didn't come out in every stable tour saying we've always liked him he wouldn't even be getting discussed probably but like you said has to take the 50s

                            • Impressive enough that from Ramillies really - given the fav's proximity to Gerri Colombe and Bronn LTO.

Relished the trip. Any comments from Willie, RTE viewers?

                              • He did that nicely enough.
wouldn't get carried away, but he's got one hurdle out the way in terms of qualification to actually run in the NH chase.
                                So onwards and upwards hopefully.
Probably needs the NH chase to be lacking real classy types this year (which is possible)
