Who do we think will turn up:
    Constitution Hill
    Honeysuckle
    State Man
    Sharjah
    Epatante
    Pied Piper
    Not So Sleepy
    Saldier?
    Teahupoo?

You've then got some of the horses who have won handicaps and now rated in the 150s - Knappers Hill, First Street and I Like To Move It.

Possibly one of the intended Mullins Arkle runners won't take to fences and be moved into the division.

Bob Olinger if he doesn't see out the 3m at Xmas?

Milton may send Knight Salute if he is better than his last showing.

May get some social runners just so connections can be in the parade ring.

We should still see a decent sized field as there aren't really many alternatives unless we see a high clas County field with the updated rules on number of runners discouraging a State Man type.

At least he's shown he can go from the front so he can stay out of trouble if needed.

      • Wonder where Saint Roi will end up.... after that County Hurdle win and most of last year he was the novice chaser I was giddy about... not even favourite to beat Fil Dor now.

Lukewarm on him nowadays but I'll be a bit gutted if he looks brilliant in a minute .... as I'm not on.

Saint Roi ends up in a handicap at the festival then, and I'll very much be interested

Fil Dor very good there I thought!

Better than a hcapper surely? Reminds me of when Fakir d'oudaries beat Melon there getting the allowance, Melon later went on to finish a nose behind Samcro in the Marsh

            • Gordon says G1 Racing Post Novices Chase at Leopardstown on 26th December next for Fil Dor. No need to step up in trip yet.

Mullins not really interested in the handicap chases at the fez though it seems, skipped the grand annual with gentleman de mee last year with the same owner when he was fave for the race I think, probably more likely another one for the Arkle or maybe the turners to avoid Jonbon for the same owner but doesn’t look like he wants a rise in trip

Maybe, don't think I'd fancy him for any festival graded race though, seems a level below that to me.

Fair point about him for the handicaps, may not end up there... I'd defintiely be on if he was though, as I was with GDMee!

Would be surprised if either of those get near winning an arkle or turners

They'll be fairly near by default as not many runners

You in the Jonbon / El Fabiolo camp? Done deal?

                        Iv covered those two yes

Wouldn't say I'm really in anyones camp really open to acknowledging performances from others

I'm against saint roi though being by a sire that's produced some pretty dodgy jumpers, so have a fairly dim view of the form until seeing fil dor again

Saint roi jumped fine, but didn't look the most fluent jumper over the last 4 when the race quickened to me

I certainly wasn't sitting there thinking I'd just seen a Cheltenham winner when fil dor crossed the line

I think his hurdles form puts him at a level we can say is below what'd be needed...so Fil Dor beating him today would have been a 'must' if he's going to be involved in proper grade 1's IMO.

I few years back I'd have been a big fan of Saint Roi novice chasing, wouldn't worry about how his relatives jumped as each horse deserves to be judged on their own merit - I think a 'dim view' of the form is a bit harsh, albeit ultimately we're in the same camp of wanting to see Fil Dor improve next time out.

I think the breeding aspect to saint roi is important tbh, some sires just don't produce many fluent jumpers of a fence. It's something that would definitely put me off backing a novice chaser ante post before iv seen them run anyway. If they jump well then am happy to reassess after watching.

Fil dor will need to improve as he was getting 8lb today and will be racing off levels in march

But given his age improvement is very likely, just depends on how much there is to come as to whether he will be a genuine contendor or not

He's a general 10/1 which looks on the short side to me

Do you like the breeding of el fabiolo? Spanish moons don’t seem to make good chasers!

Still fairly early days to make that judgement. According to the RP (why does that phrase fill me with dread?), 9 individual chase winners from 17 who've tried it. 20 wins from 108 runs.
