I'll take that all day re MC. He front ran but settled way better. Jumped accurately with loads of scope, but wasn't too fast. Looks all over a stayer and there's little lost in defeat IMO stretching that field out on heavy going on your first start. Be interesting to see what Willie says.
He lost on season debut last year and improved significantly next time up. Hopefully see the same this year. Journey with Me was held by both before falling.
Funny how we see it differently. Thought MC was just outstayed and would prefer better ground. He didn't look like a step up would help at all. Think we've found Willie's BANC horse though. CG very impressive.

Came to this conclusion too, Willie seems to think so too considering hes always banging the drum about him being a 2m 4f horse

Thought Minella Cocooner, JWM and Classic Getaway all jumped well in the main, JWM made a slight error down the back (4th last possibly) then himself and CG knuckled little bit third last but both were going well enough. JWM then shipped Racheal hopefully just a tired mistake on the going first run back? I’d say MC tired as well, whether it was stamina on the going but I’d also agree and say 2 and a half on better ground be perfect for him.

thats my take aswell, you'd imagine CP were paying 570k for a gold cup horse not a champion chaser. In time the further they go the better with CG. Not one many would have had on their radar after an underwhelming hurdling campaign, getting beat by cashback and running no race in the AB (although was given no chance by the jockey tbf). This was always going to be his game and you can probably just draw a line through last season. MC no doubt will come on from that run but IMO turners would suit him best.
