  • Don't like AI at all. Doubt re injuries, doubt re whether he stays hurdling or goes chasing, doubt whether he deserves his Hurdles rating now as the horses he has beaten don't look all that now. He's just an awful bet whatever way you look at it. Apart from that he's ok

    • Refuse to believe any of that PP/BF mullins crap anymore after what happened with redemption day being backed in for the supreme with the next day him being confirmed as out for the season

      • The PP cut could be due to them getting a word about Appreciate It getting an entry over 2m at Navan this weekend. Iirc there’s a 2m1f beginners on the card!

          That’s the other one I couldn’t think of,Redemption Day

Said it before,I personally don’t think anybody involved with a racing stable should be associated with a bookmaker

          Just doesn’t look good

          • Funny how one horse can have so many split opinions.

I actually like Appreciate It, but not for the Arkle. Has to be Turners for me, although wouldn't be dead against the BANC, either.

You forgot to mention the setback he had after the supreme which caused him to miss punchestown, and then a rumored setback after the champion hurdle that caused him to miss punchestown again this year. Three separate setbacks within the space of a year, far from nonsense imo

And he was off the track for 622 days before his bumper runs which suggests another injury

I didn't know he had a setback post Supreme, I assumed (wrongly) that they drew stumps after Cheltenham as they had the previous year. Rumoured setbacks don't hold any weight with me, but perhaps 'nonsense' was a step too far. Niggly issues are still issues.

                  • I'd the in the camp that Appreciate It is a poor price for the Arkle. One run in 20 months and soon to be 9 years old doesn't scream Arkle winner to me. There's every chance that 2 miles could be to sharp for him these days. He's not for me at single figures.

I think thats fair FM. I thought 12/1 was a fair price but unfortunately others agreed. Would like to see an entry soon.

                        • Willie has talked up several as 2 milers but El Fabiolo is the only one that he's talked about as set for the traditional Irish route to the Arkle. Add to this that he was Ruby's early Festival tip and I'd say that it's pretty clear that he's first choice at the moment. However, those last 3 words should be underlined and in bold capitals this far out.

I agree with this. Loads can and will change but based on his stable tours all combined, I think his number one horses for each race are:

                            Arkle: El Fabiolo
                            Turners: Minella Cocooner
                            RSA: James Du Berlais
                            NH: Gaillard Du Mesnil

I'm backing horses in line with those thoughts but I'd be flabbergasted if all four turned out to be right come March.

Id quite like that. If he improves for a fence he'd be bang there with Jonbon.
