I’d need to watch again, but looked like proper stumbled from the side on live. He was on the bridle turning in then lost all momentum and couldn’t get going again after that

I'm not saying he would have beat him but think he would have been closer than the winning margin.

        • Hollow Games very good, albeit made a lot easier by the withdrawal of Flame Bearer. Can't take away from his jumping though.

Reminiscent of his hurdles debut. Hopefully he’ll reach a higher grade now chasing.

Quite frankly anyone that backed him at 11/10 after his awful chase debut needs to give up betting

Don’t think 3SL wants any further. This is his trip in my book.

The question is - is he good enough? I’d say place at best based on Nass evidence.

Potter would be the definite for me but depending on how things turn out, any of the three could. I can’t see any of them being 2 milers but I think both TSL and HG can step up to 3 miles this season.

Really tricky with Gordon’s chasers this year as I think Gerri and Saint Felicien could also take high rank too. Saint Felicien would probably want the Turners trip and Gerri 3 miles.

I thought the opposite and that he was going to need every yard to get past grand jury. Early days and he might not have been fit but I don’t think we’ll see the best of him until he go’s 3 miles

                            • Let's face it, we have no idea. Before yesterday we had Banbridge running in the NHC. Q hit the nail on head when he said with these Novices chasers it's more about the jumping as opposed to distance. It's so difficult.

Looked big in the parade ring yesterday apparently

Should come on plenty for the run

Don't know if it's just me but I feel Gordon has changed tactics slightly this year, don't think he's getting his horses quite as fit for their first run as previous years

Guess we will find out next time
