Saw this and thought exactly the same thing. Can't see any way he is a 2 miler, personally.

Gordon said in his stable tour he thinks he'll make a better chaser than hurdler and given he won a grade 3 hurdle and finished a good 3rd to Ginto in a grade 1 I'd be very surprised if he's campaigned with a handicap in mind. I reckon it will be a pipe opener to give the horse some experience jumping fences at speed. If he wins then great, if he doesn't then it won't really be a surprise to anyone.

Easywork started off in the same race and was going for the BAC before getting injured. But yeah most others have gone shorter though very few are Gordon’s

I wouldn't read too much into it with a view to future targets tbh. Trainers sometimes start novices over shorter than ideal as it can be more educational taking fences at a greater speed than lobbing around lazily where less is learnt. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he eluded to this pre or post race, regardless of outcome.

          • Jonbon heading to Warwick over 2miles, then the plan is Sandown over 2miles again for the Henry VIII

It's legit as my single has paid out and rollups remain live. They did something similar and paid out on Liverpool winning the league very early on last season (even though they didn't actually win it in the end) so they do things like this sporadically

I think they paid out on Liverpool for this season after beating City in the Community Shield

Yes that's what it was, cheers, Liverpool's season has been pretty shit since then so that win seems like it was a season ago already
