Saint Felicien may end up down the handicap route, and Fil Dor will probably need another season.
I was pleasantly by the 50/1 PP came back to me with about Quilixios for the Arkle. I’m hoping last year was just a a stop gap for connections letting him mature & fill out before going chasing, not traveling to Cheltenham & Aintree won’t have done him any harm & HdB pulling up stumps in February may have given them plenty of time to school properly.

Course & distance winner that looks better built for fences than hurdles is great value in book, also the 2m novices from last year weren’t exactly stellar bar CH who appears to be going down the CH route.

Regarding Saint Felicien, he's already joint 3rd highest rated hurdler(RPR wise) Saint Des Saints has produced and given the majority of his improve a fair bit for chasing I'm expecting him to be graded class this year, not to mention our capper won't give him anything less than 149 (what he ran off in the Coral)even if he ran some stinkers chasing and rocked up next year in the plate/GA. Looked a classy sort and inevitable will be forced down the novice graded events barring injury imo. Exciting horse.

Gordon has confirmed Fil Dor goes chasing on RTV.

️ “If we get a bit of rain he’ll start at Down Royal. He looks like a chaser and he’ll stay further as well. We’ll try to take advantage of his four-year-old weight allowance.”

I think our general consensus on here was that he looks every inch a chaser and I think they'll be able to exploit a lot with the allowance to begin with. I think they may well be looking to keep FD, Mighty Potter and Three Stripe Life apart. I think Mighty Potter could be Gordon's Arkle horse and Fil d'Or possibly his Turners which I've chanced at 25/1. If only it was so easy to map out the races

Gordon has plenty to fit in
            - Teahupoo
            - Saint felicien
            - Minella crooner (assume he’s chasing not heard anything)
            - Hollow games
            - Gerri Colombe
            Plus the three you’ve mentioned

I don't know if you have read Jumpers to follow but I got the impression that Gerri Colombe could be heading the way of the National Hunt Chase. I guess Gordon will see which of the horses mentioned are good enough to contest the festival races and if they all are he might just throw a couple at each.

The book was also making the point that Robcour would want to keep Gerri and Journey With Me apart, so there's that to add into the mix

That was on my main take outs from it and I think JWM looks like a potential RSA horse.

One of Gordon’s novice chasers that hasn’t been mentioned above is Chemical Energy. I had the horse noted as a potential National Hunt horse given how he was stepped up I trip and then sent novice chasing at the back end of last season. I expected to see a couple of summer runs followed by a run at Cheltenham in October. His late start over 2m was therefore not in my thinking, has anyone seen any post race comments about where his targets might be?

Fir me, Chemical Energy is Gordon's Grand Annual horse

I definitely see him as more of a handicapper

He'd need to be a huge improver for a fence to be competing with the mullins battalions

Definitely a handicapper for me. GA or the Plate, possibly. Don't think a step up in trip would cause him a issue.

Long way to go though, Gordon will likely have a whole host of handicap options, as is usually the case.

Cobblers Dream is one I'll be keeping an eye on this season going chasing (as somer1 has pointed out above already). Put him up last year for the Coral Cup after he won the Lanzerote impressively however he ended up running in the Martin Pipe. Finished 2nd behind Bambridge & ahead of the likes of Hollow Games, Freedom to Dream, Chemical Energy & Grand Jury so the horse is no mug.

Ben Case has already outlined starting him off in a listed chase at Chepstow in Oct. over 2m3f so I'd imagine his final target would be Turners or if he falls short of Graded Class maybe the Grand Annual? Can't see him priced up anywhere yet so have put out some requests to get him added, will revert back if get any prices...
