Two ways of looking at that.
On one hand you have a battle hardened against a non one.
On the other hand you have a horse that’s had a relatively easy time against one that may have had too hard a race.
Both scenarios could give a horse an advantage.

We really need to hope both turn up as well as possible.
    They can then tell us.

They have raced against each other once, over hurdles at the end of the season.
No collateral form over fences to go on. Unless I’ve missed something?
If I had to pick one now I would go for Jonbon, just because I think he’s more straightforward in his travelling during a race and I’ve been slightly more impressed with his jumping thus far, but I do acknowledge that EF has now gone deeper.
Its a fascinating race and to me it’s simply a case of looking forward to it and hope that any gut feeling proves correct.
No collateral and this is probably a bit loose but we do have Banbridge, beaten 10 lengths by el fabiolo.
We have Tommy's oscar and Boothill at doncaster. The result of which had Jonbon very slightly ahead of Banbridge, once weights and distances beaten are taken in to account. But nowhere near 10 lengths El fab finished ahead of him yesterday.
As I said very loose at best but just about all we have.

Yeah it’s loose but something I guess.
Jonbon been winning pretty effortlessly though so can’t really use that for anything concrete.

willie throwing JDB in the CH suggests he rates him and first performance this year to my untrained eye looked a more natural jumper vs. Mighty Potter who has jumped well but thrown in the odd mistake (granted this expected for novices)
I think todays trip is perfect for him. To my eye he'd be wanting over 2m and looked that way over hurdles where I think raw ability won the day a few times. I think 2m5f will be perfect for him, the ideal trip.

Appreciate you’ve identified the looseness of it yourself, but Tommy’s Oscar hated Cheltenham and hates travelling. No way he ran his race that day.

Agreed. Wouldn’t want it every week, but 5 weeks out, I think that’s the ideal prep. Warms the engine nicely.

Really looking forward to it and hoping for either JDB or Mighty Potter.

                  • Horror show for James du Berlais over the first 4. A different mistake each time.

                    • Well Mighty Potter very much the one to beat in the Turners!
                      Impressed with that.

                      • Well that was very very good. Mighty Potter is a tool over fences.

                          • Potter much too good for them.

JDB I can't have for anything

GDM NHC looking the right race!

                            My initial take.

This has upset me. Can’t imagine anything getting near to Mighty Potter. Great performance.

That wasn't even close to his debut performance. Almost looked like they hadn't even bothered schooling him since!

Jacob kept taking him back after every jump too.

Glad Mighty Potter dotted up though.
