Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Oh right, thanks COD. Another reason to think 7/2 is way too short.

Happens to many horses, the way Willie made it sound.

I think Sprinter Sacres heart issue was worse and he came back to win a QMCC, which was mental.

      • Danny Mullins the best around? Zachx02

Is he even top 3 in Ireland?

Jack, Paul, Rachel, Mark all better? - I'm on first name terms with them all obviously.

Not knocking Danny Mullins, I rate all the above too... and agree he's had some good proven front running rides...and would suit DD ... but still.

In my opinion kev, he should be number 1 for the WPM yard, think hes better than Townend, not sure why Mark Walsh is in the conversation really think hes a level lower than those there. Maybe right now Jack > Danny but I'm a big fan!

Hmm I would say Mark is definitely not better than Danny.

            Mine would be:

            Jack
            Paul
            Danny
            Rachel

If I had a horse expected to win, I'd have Townend every day of the week and twice on Sundays. If I had an outsider, it'd be Jack. Those would be my top two. Then Rachel, then Danny.

I just think Paul has it easier (easier rides) as he always has the best horses. Willie's horses are the best most of the time over Gordon's that's why he gets so many winners

Don't disagree at all. But I also think it can be an unforgiving task riding odds on favs so often. Very rewarding, but unforgiving too. You're expected to win most times you set foot on the track and if you get beat, it's what did you do wrong. Bit like a penalty taker. And his strike rate is excellent. In time Jack may be have the opportunity to develop or prove that side of his game.

Very true, I agree that the pressure is much higher on Paul because of the horses he rides and that does carry its weight. But the way I look at it is that the horse doesn't know its odds, the chance it is meant to have in the race or how good the opposition are, and therefore with the horse doing 90% (or so) of the job, all Paul has to do is sit there, steer them and put the tactics in to play. Whereas someone like Jack on a less fancied/not as good horse will have to do more to get the win. Do I think that Paul would be as good as Jack if he was riding what Jack does, there wouldn't be much in it at all but I would probably slightly leant towards Jack.

All an opinions game though isn't it I guess

Ha, to think how much of a bashing Barry used to get. The posts on BarryBashing over the years!

Out of interest, who do you think will go on to be the best? Jack Kennedy head and shoulders fav IMO to eclipse them all .... Paul in a great spot obviously...

I don't care I've derailed this thread either by the way.... might even be time for the specific race threads?

It is. And I don't even have an opinion on which is the best Just that they are my top two but because of their varying rides and riding styles, I couldn't pick just one.

Yeah agreed. Still so much chat about which horse where. Very few we're certain of. Think it's worked really well this year.
