Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

No chance the race will be decided by a turn of foot, Limerick is a bog as standard, been nothing but rain falling there the last few days, it will be bottomless & a proper test of stamina! If Gerri jumps even as well as he did at Fairyhouse I can’t see him beaten, given Gordon’s patient modus operandi this year I’m expecting a bold showing!

Edit: the 14/1 still available about him for the BANC is great value imo, GE is on record as saying when it comes to the spring he’s not opposed to running him on better going.

Just looking through the betting for the Turners on Oddschecker. 18 horses are currently shorter than Kilcruit. Of those 18 only 2/3 maximum are likely to run in the race imo. Yes Kilcruit has to prove himself on Monday versus a decent opponent in Gerri Colombe but if he does then we could have a new fav for the race.

As you say, time will tell but he'll only probably have one more run after Monday so time is probably on my side for this season anyway.
Willie choosing an intermediate trip pre Cheltenham is not a reliable indicator for an intermediate trip at Cheltenham. His list of BANC horses who hadn't taken in 3m over fences before going BANC is as long as my arm - GDM, Allaho, Al Boum Photo, Bellshill, Shaneshill, Ballycasey, Boston Bob etc.

Agree. His jumping was far superior to Kilcruit and that will enable him to beat over the shorter trip. Throw in the heavy ground as it’s almost perfect for Gerri.

              Agree very strongly.

I guess the one good thing were he to line up in the Turners is that you could discount him from winning…

                  • For anyone who gives them credence, I note that El Fabiolo was given an RPR of 159 for Fairyhouse. That would be the same as Jonbon for his chasing debut and 5 higher than Appreciate It.

The thing is though, the list of his BANC contenders this season is longer than your other arm!

Kilcruit was foot perfect wasn't he? And his demolition job of top Bumper horses in the G1 at Leopardstown was on deep ground so winter ground really suits him too. His level of form is above that of Gerri. He should be fav.

His hurdles form was some way below his bumper form

Gerri is a young unexposed improving horse. I'd hope he can beat kilcruit unless kilcruit gets back to his bumper form this year.

Gerri does definitely need 3 miles though
