  • One that might be interesting for the Bartlett in my opinion is Princess Zoe. I am hearing that she has schooled well and will be entered for this race. Could see her making her debut over hurdles at the end of the month. A Group One winner over 2m4f on the flat, if she takes to the jumping should have a fair chance.

Jesus - he will be ranked in the top 10 of Rodway's hurdlers at this rate.

It would be interesting if they did articles on how they have arrived at certain ratings each week to explain their methods.

In this case, they've rated around the third (Maidenstreetprince rpr 125 when winning lto and same for this race) as I thought they might, with additions for sectionals/ease.

It's just weird to me that they can think a horse beaten 23.5 lengths has run to form there. They have blue sari only 5lb below his best ever despite drifting from 7/1 out to 11/1 just before the off!

        • Elliott tempted to stick to 2m with Irish Point - entered in the 2m g1 at the DRF but he says they may keep him fresh and go straight to the fez.

Good to hear. Still 12s with Bet365 in the w/o FV market.

            • So looked at the Gaelic Warrior 155 RPR and compared to some of the other novices this year.

              In a handicap:

Facile Vega - receives 3 pounds
Marine Nationale - receives 8 pounds
Irish Point - receives 8 pounds
Hermes Allen- receives 3 pounds (why is he so high as well!?)
Impaire et Passe - receives 9 pounds
Champ Kiely - receives 5 pounds
              Inthepocket - receives 18 pounds!!!!
Rare Edition - receives 11 pounds

All set up for a 157 for Facile Vega after the DRF.

Looking at that, I personally find this all rather farcical.
Just glad I don’t use ratings to help
me when looking at the novice races at Cheltenham

"We obviously didnt see the best of him at Navan but we found an issue with him so hopefully overcome that"

Potential targetting the Nathaniel Lacey and Partners at DRF

                    • Via @TheIrishField, Gordon Elliott on IRISH POINT:

"He is entered for the Dublin Racing Festival so could go there, or else straight to Cheltenham. He's done nothing wrong so far.

"I'd be tempted to keep him to two miles. The Supreme would look the likeliest possibility."

                      • Mullins re Embassy Gardens:

We’re going out to nearly three miles here. This could be an Albert Bartlett horse and we’ll see what he does on Sunday. It’s a hot race but the extra three and a half furlongs will be a huge help to Embassy Gardens, looking at how he ran the last twice. He could be one to put in your notebook for Cheltenham.

Im not sure what’s more shocking. Willie telling us the destination of a novice hurdler in January or a Mulryan horse not headed to the Ballymore.

I've always felt Willie has a bit of a soft spot for Embassy Gardens, this quote backs that up despite him appearing to under perform on the track. Perhaps Willie's right and he needs that extra few furlongs. 50/1 for the Bartlett might look the proverbial gift horse if he hoses up on Sunday and Willie had spelt it out for us today...
