But ... re your stats. If you are prepared to forgive, American Mike and Grangeclare West would fit the bill. Both had excuses LTO too. Could be a couple to at least have a saver on.
This stat has really got me thinking this morning. It's actually got me a bit worried about my mares novice hurdle bet.
Halka du talbert, if entered and winning the solerina would then carry a 5lb penalty in the mares novice hurdle. be at a disadvantage
Where as if she was to run in the ballymore she would get a 7lb allowance, possibly having an advantage.

If american mike disappoints next time out, halka du tabert wins the solerina. How likely does this scenario become? considering the ballymore would be right up her street.

The post also referenced a turn of foot. You have questioned PN as to whether he is sending the wrong type....do you really see HDT as a turn of foot horse ......relentless galloper I’d say ....which is what you’d probably say Denman was.

Both need to win a graded novice hurdle though. I was a fan of American Mike for the bumper last year but as a novice hurdler, I would want him to go up to 3m. He would be top of my 3m chaser list at the moment if they can sort out whatever caused him to fold last time out.

Grangeclare West has the coughing excuse. Possibly back him if he goes to the Ballymore and runs well/wins next time out in a graded hurdle.

At the moment I've backed Inthepocket and Dark Raven on the exchanges and don't see any others I'm likely to back before declarations.

        • Don't think a mare has ever won the Ballymore Aaron. Can't remember one running in it either in all my time.

Shattered Love ran in one but finished dead last.

Cheers. Probably why I couldn't remember her......was back in the bar by the time she passed the post

Yes ...but despite my turn of foot question mark I thoroughly applaud the way AL is thinking out of the box....shame a few more trainers don’t imo.

                  • I think it was good that Imagine didn't run in the Lawlors of Naas, so with a bit of luck he will be running against Gaelic Warrior on Thursday and we get an idea of level of form, as Imagine isn't a horse that gets beat 80+ lengths, ordinarily, anyway. You've also got HMS Seahorse who is only rated officially 2lbs lower than Gaelic Warrior.

Lets hope they all turn up.

                    • I'd be concerned about Imapire Et Passe starting over 2m 3f if I was looking for a speedier type for the Ballymore like. Guess we've not been left with much though have we!

Champ Kiely looks a more solid bet the more I look at this race. It's crazy that he's a bigger price than Gaelic Warrior on all known form.

If you watch his run back Benjy you’ll see his turn of foot. Annoyingly hurdles omitted but he’s definitely got a turn of foot.

Just hope he’s Ballymore bound and not Supreme, it’s 50:50 really imo.

Before I had even heard of him someone on here (sorry, forgot who it was) mentioned his turn of foot in his flat run in France over 1m4f, so he's definitely got it.

Between him and Gaelic Warrior now for the Ballymore, for Willie, IMO.

'Facile Vega is set to go straight to Cheltenham without a prep run, so there is plenty of time for the picture around him to change. It could be that Willie Mullins offers his own opposition, with impressive Naas maiden winner Impaire Et Passe and last year's Boodles runner-up Gaelic Warrior yet to show their full hand.'
