  • I see HMS high definition is going to set sail in the first at Leopardstown

I imagine he will be rather confused that someones put these obstacles in his way

Any news on if Gaelic Warrior is a likely runner in the Gardens Hurdle?
      Both to meet at Naas?

A tipster I follow via email tipped him up this morning, could be that as I think he does have quite a decent following.

          • I watched road to Cheltenham earlier, I have to say, I got the feeling that Facile Vega could/will be everything WPM and the yard think he’ll be.

Lydia tried to pose the question about his antepost price etc, which is correct, is shocking, but ruby seemed very quiet but bullish about it.

The Grade 1 at Xmas may not show us much but I think the yard confidence behind Facile Vega is clear to see. None of us are taking evens now for the Supreme but it could look a silly price in a couple months times.

The lack of competitiveness is frustrating but hopefully he'll throw up some sectionals comparable to others who'e gone on to win a supreme.

The problem is what has he got to beat? Seems like the opposition have been scared away. Could be another schooling job, which of course is not the horses fault.

Not much, but we'll know more at least.

                  • Willie on Facile Vega in The Irish Times today. Thought this was very interesting...

“His star is very bright at the moment. He is very good, but we don’t know how good. Most of the other horses that we have run, we have a fair idea of what their ability is; this fellow, we don’t know how good he is. He’s still, for want of a better phrase, an unopened package,” he said.
“We’ve got Galopin Des Champs there, Vauban, State Man: but if someone was to come down and give you one to take out from the yard, would you take a Galopin Des Champs, Vauban or Facile Vega?

“Facile has everything, size, scope, pedigree, there’s more left unopened there than the other horses,” he added.

’He’s the pick of Paul Townsend, he’s been doing everything right at home, he jumps and gallops well. It’s going to be a tough race as all the maidens are but I think this fellow is good enough to take on whatever is in there. We are expecting a big show from this horse.”

Very, very positive from him. He must be decent.

Smashed in ahead of his run. Opened 2/1 with 365, now 10/11…

They opened much higher than Betfair/PP etc so not surprised to see him come in.

Reckon he thinks he could be his best ever. Never known him so outwardly excited by one as much as him.

I’m getting a similar vibe. He could be the one that could stop Constitution Hill having things entirely his own way over the next few years.
