  • I've put a line through both the Royal Bond and Lawlors, just like last season. What we be will be.

Could very well be a good move.... I hope not, but logical

I'm not one for trips for most horses.
They've either got ability or not.
So the horses that ran in the Royal Bond look to have good ability as the 2 that ran today showed.

Quite possibly showed that today's running was not suited to dour staying types, lacking speed though.

          Just thoughts.
Watch the Bond back, there was no hiding places and those 4 pulled a mile clear, everything else pulled up or just about completed. People wanted to crab the form because of the name of the race. It's not been associated with supreme/ballymore winners because over the last 10 years or so Willie's started his better sorts later in the year. I'd much rather rate the race on merit rather than disregard it because of a trend. We had a good understanding of the level based on CK through Brazil. Brazil is a solid 140ish horse and CK laughed at him, Dawn rising was beat 20 odd lengths by CK earlier in the season too, he's came out and won against American Mike and ran well again today in behind. Champ Keily ran very keen in the Bond and ran out of puff at the end, that being said you couldn't take anything away from the front 2 on the day. I'd also argue if Ashroe Diamond was put in the race over Christmas she'd have finished a lot closer to FV. Today if anything really franks the form of the bond and all 4 horses look to have a bright future going forward.

Then likely to go to the DRF in the same way El Fabiolo and Bronn did ... if good enough, take shis chance in Supreme, if not, doesn't run ...

            33/1 NRNB very little risk?

            PP are 66/1

Got to beat Found A Fifty, a couple of others then 20 also-rans tomorrow
Easy enough without Found A Fifty

            Follow Bronn.... and Asterion Forlonge

Can get 300-1 on exchange for twenty quid.

                • Iv had two bets in this race

                  American mike and grangeclare west

So it's not exactly gone to plan on their 2nd runs

Back to the drawing board, might just leave it till the day now and the inevitable first race offers

I’m on board for a handicap. But I think a step up in trip suits. Willie said as much too in his stable tour. Perhaps finish down the field at the DRF over 2m then on to the Pipe?

                    • Champ Kiely will give a lovely tow to the final hurdle for Inthepocket and Dark Raven.

I don't think he'll end up good enough but a good option

Reckon Danny keeps the ride..... Gaelic Warrior for Paul looks most likely now

Obviously DRF will shake it up
Flop, beaten 5L in a G1 tad harsh but I know what you meant.

I thought he has plenty of pace so was interested to see how he’d go today, done nothing wrong on tough ground but had it all his own way(can appreciate its hard to look classy on that ground).Depends how folk rate the horses in behind him but that’s subjective.

You’d hope Danny would stay on wherever he goes thou yeah, makes sense well suited etc.

Maybe. Either race will do for me.

Yeah, was no flop in the RB. Willie said he only ran him in that to find out if he were a 2 miler. He got his answer.

Would of liked to have seen him let loose the last day given not beaten miles and held up keen. Prob wouldn’t of beat winner given picked up well after last hurdle blunder tbf.
