Bit low I'd say compared to others they've handed out

I’d agree with that as it looked a fairly competitive for a lot of novices going into a Grade 1 for the first time and he absolutely smashed them. I do think he could do some damage come march and he had course and distance form too.

Paul Nicholls couldn't train a winner of a Cheltenham Novice Hurdle G1 if his career depended on it ..... failed with too many good ones to concern yourself with this no hoper....

Hahaha I am kind of joking, but pretty easy ante post fav to look to take on, despite the positives .....

Someone on Twitter posted that PN has had 228 hurdlers run at the festival over the last 25 years and 19 have won, which is a 8.33% strike rate. 46 of those were novice hurdlers and 3 of them won, which is a 6.52% strike rate. The list is long on the reasons I wouldn't touch Hermes Allen at 3/1, and the list just got longer with that stat.

Sounds like you've got 228 horses to research Lobos......

                • Impose Toi has a couple of entries over 2m5f Friday n Saturday, hopefully a big performance if declared in either. Had pretty much written my bet on him so will be a bonus if he's a decent sort.

Just two off the top of my head worth noting, both Bravemansgame & Denman were both short enough in the betting (think Denman went off short priced fav) and failed to win, so how good is Hermes Allen?

And with Ruby on, you'd think a match made in heaven, clearly not! Mind you, they made up for it down the years.

somebody put it perfectly the other day, they're are two types that run in the ballymore A type 2-2.5m B type 2.5-3m.
Generally an A trype will win the ballymore , denman was a B type. Hermes allen looks a B type.

It’s because he was a two and half to three mile horse, not a two to two and a half horse
