Normally I’d think that it could be for handicapping purposes but he won’t be able to get four runs in before the festival. So he’s likely to be running on merit but also not scared of Jet Powered. It could be an intriguing race.
….Inneston 20-1 a/r Hills but if he runs at the Festival, i suppose the options will be limited. 66-1 Supreme, 50-1 Bally.Last edited by Eggs; 30 December 2022, 07:53 PM.

I was asked about him in the Unibet Q & Awe did before Christmas and I said then let’s not carried away and run before we can walk with him. Yes, he was very impressive here on his hurdling debut and we think very highly of him – and so do the bookmakers who have him as second or third favourite for the Supreme – but let’s not forget the form of the race is not that strong, with the third and fifth well beaten since, and he still has plenty to prove. But we could not have asked any more from him there and he excites us. He carries a 5lb penalty in a better race here, so let’s see.

Nicky on firestep It’s been a case of long time no see but he is finally making his eagerly awaited return to action after yonks off due to various little issues which have kept him off the track for so long, but he’s a nice horse and we hope our patience will be rewarded. As you would expect for the course, this is a very good Maiden so I couldn’t be confident by any means and I do expect large amounts of improvement, although on the other hand he has done plenty of work. The main aim is to get him back on the course, see what we’ve got, and go on from there. He’s a lovely horse but has a long way to go before we start talking about anything grand.

Favori de champdou given an RPR of 152 for his recent run. They’re obviously of the opinion letsbeclearaboutit stepped up on his previous runs if that’s to be believed. FDC certainly fits the bill for the AB as 1 of these battle hardened novices given his experience. Age may be a concern although I’m sure not many 8 yr olds have ran in it and uknowwhatimeanharry showed it can be done. Anyway I’m still not totally convinced by FDC but he’s definitely entered my radar
