Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

He can't be the best horse you've seen in the flesh if it was Thursday at Cheltenham last year...... He wouldn't be the best horse you saw that day.... Galopin Des Champs fell on the same card

I can see them having a crack at it, but I can also see more clearly him going for the Ryanair.... I can't imagine he's a big enough price to lure me in without NRNB?

Willie has had doubts previous about the trip - am guessing if he's fit and healthy he'll stick to what he's best at and look for the treble in the Ryanair.

I wont be playing him till there is some good word on his health

        • I suspect Cheveley will have a close look at the Gold Cup for Envoi Allen if Allaho is back to full fitness (for a Ryanair bid).
I’m not sure why they abandoned the staying route for this one so quickly but he has been transformed this season (King George aside) and wasn’t stopping last Thursday.
Obviously GDC has laid a marker down that will frighten most but I think it’d be well worth a crack at this race for Envoi Allen…

I put a similar comment in one of the other threads. I suspect Cheveley Park will send Sir Gerhard (depending on his next run) and Allaho to the Ryanair and Envoi and APT to the Gold Cup. I think the distances would suit the respective horses.

            • Hard to gauge with injuries but they’ve also got Classic Getaway & Ferny Hollow

Classic Getaway needs 5 miles+, right? and Ferny Hollow probably needs 2 mile although with crutches and knee supports?

                • You have to look at the vanishingly small chance that all those Cheveley Park horses will be on parade next March.

Also, you'd be fairly confident that, if GDC is ready to defend his title, Willie wouldn't be giving any of his others much of a chance.

                    I haven’t seen that CNC.
Kevloaf probably deleted it to be fair…

Can't have him in GC at all. Ryanair repeat all day long .

Envoi Allen to the Gold Cup makes sense, but he'll surely attempt the King George again .... well backed for it before floppin' .... go again?

I can't see me fancying Envoi Allen though unless he did win it, by which time the price is gone.

Yep, I wouldn’t fancy him either. The 10 year old stat (whilst not meaning a 10 year cannot win a GC ) is quite a strong trend. APT and Envoi will both be 10 at next year’s festival. To be honest, since this is the GC thread, I can’t see beyond GDC. If pushed to look for alternatives I would suggest Mighty Potter (I think the trip would really suit him), Ahoy Senior (I think track really suits him), Protektorat (if it came up heavy) or L’Homme Presse. I can’t see anything else at this stage. Obviously Bravemansgame would be competitive but I’m just not sure how he would turn the tables on GDC.

Edit: I think a back on song Shishkin would be interesting too.

My initial point on the Cheveley Park string was, I think Sir Gerhard at 25-1 for the Ryanair looks a reasonable price. He jumped much better on the second lap of the BA and if he continues to improve his jumping then I think he would go close in the Ryanair. Just needs to come with a health warning as he could return to hurdles if his jumping doesn’t improve,
