Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • I must admit I've never taken to GDC and that for me has pushed that point to me more. I think if you can get some real early pace on him he will struggle. Don't get me wrong he's a good horse clearly but I think he's been treated as this bombproof horse and don't see that as the case at all

Perfect ride wasn’t it. The nailed on fav is a doubt. His owner tells us he’s Ryanair bound. He travels like the best horse for 2m6f then doesn’t see out 3m. And he’s still 20/1!

              Fury Road? He’s 8/1 with PP…

Fury Road is a stayer through and through, he might well be Ryanair bound so the owners have a runner but he will be taken off his feet at 2.5

                • I'm not sure I see Galopin Des Champs being more suited to the Gold Cup test.

I thought he'd absolutely wallop them over 3m today if he was going to be a superstar.

He's won easily enough, but not a wow moment by any stretch. I see he's been pushed out with PP after it too.

                    I agree, in part.
The way he was off the bridle before the last didn't look sexy at all.
But he did pick up OK.
He's no good thing though, far from it.
7-2 a decent price, and we may get that on the day in a very trappy renewal.

                    • I am wondering what people think they needed to see though? Is he expected to win every race on the bridle?

He got 2 taps and went away, he's beaten the second favourite 8 lengths and to me Stattler wasn't really closing after the last

…is now. Still 25-1 Fred by the looks of it.

Yeah this was my thought - he wasn't overly impressive in the way he travelled but the response after he was given persuaders was impressive in my opinion... On the caveat that fury road basically stopped at the same time

He's there to be shot at as a short price GC fav and has a chinks in the armour, imo. To my eye, he didn't jump brilliantly and didn't pull away from Stattler after the last (first impressions and i do need to watch it again). If they go hard in the GC they might just get him at it. At the moment, I want to take him on.

So GDC has gone from being too fast for a gold cup to being too slow for one?

                                I'm not seeing that

Paul was just letting him pop the fences today trying to keep him as relaxed as possible

There's no doubt if he needed to jump better he could
