I think that it's fair to point out that Stattler has never won a G1 race and appears to come off second best in a battle more often than not. His NHC win was over another 'after you Claude' type. If GDC stands up tomorrow they're all playing for places.

Slightly strange opinion to come to regarding him not willing to battle. He may prove not to be good enough, but there has been zero indication so far that he is not genuine imo. He has placed second a total of twice in his career, every other run he’s either won (including in some close finishes) or just being well held in some of his hurdle runs.

Shame Fury Road made the mistake at the last, really excellent run from him. GDC certainly looks like he'll stay, he was flying after the last. Sets this race up quite nicely IMO.
