Haven't seen the fee structure for a few years but I'm sure first stage entry fees were around ?700

He hasn't said anything from what I've read. Capodanno appeared in Mark Howard's last update on the list for horses who are either out or unlikely to return to action this season. Previously, he was being treated for wind-related issues (too many sprouts at Christmas?) and was not expected to run over the winter period due to that, and a liking for better ground.

Loved Monkfish, they're just never as good when they come back, and as much better put above, he isn't going to be, is he?

He was my first AP bet last March on the 2023 Gold Cup but my position has changed considerably since, so in that respect I hope he's not as good!

He's at least another piece of what's shaping up to be a cracking Gold Cup! Could easily be half a dozen or so runners capable of putting up 170+, maybe more. Got to be the most strength in depth for a fair few years?

But yeah, hard to trust that he will retain his ability, especially if he goes straight to Cheltenham which looks like it would be the case.
