So you get cashout on these special bets ?
If you do I would imagine there's better value in laying your horse for the Gold Cup than taking the cashout offer, cashout is rarely value and because your second leg is a mature exchange market there will be liquidity...

      Like BMG LP & EA.
Just hard to predict the manner of victory and by how much they'll shorten.

For example, if Lomme Press wins 6l + then he'd probably go to anything between 5/2 & 7/2
BMG more likely to be single figures if he won similarly.
I’m starting to come round more and more to Envoi Allen in the King George, but with a view to the Ryanair for Cheltenham than here. He’s as big as 8/1 for Boxing Day, think that’s a cracking e/w bet imo. His last run was really encouraging and he came there swinging like the horse of old. Possibly mark up the performance after hearing Rubys analysis of how Rachael rode him as well.

I’d certainly be interested in the KG Ryanair double for him haven't checked if there is one.

I'm considering backing him for the KG. It'll depend on the prices after decs I reckon.
I've already backed for the Ryanair for small amounts as he was a big price for a short while.

I think he is one that could win the KG and still miss the Gold cup. But even they will be tempted to run in the Gold cup, unless A Plus Tard has won the Savilles convincingly, and Allaho is back. etc etc.
        It's a tricky one.

I think there is one of these doubles quoted or there will be, and maybe a saver on the Gold cup with B655 @ 40-1 is worth it.

My only concern in the KG is if the pace put too much pressure on his jumping. BMG jumps for fun and seems to have a decent cruising speed as well. If Envoi can keep tabs on them I reckon he’ll be bang there.

Yeah possibly do the GC double and have a small play for the Ryanair separate. He was bought as a future GC horse so will be interesting to see how Xmas and indeed DRF plays out for him.

Never put one of these on as Sky have screwed me and I never understood the appeal, so just hypothesising about the potential attraction for a bet that is highly likely to lose. Would you still make profit if you took the double then laid the second half of the bet if the first won and the second lost?

Depends on prices but almost certainly.

For example Lomme presse @ 16-1 for the double = tenner on that then profit of one hundred and sixty pounds if they both win
After winning the KG you lay twenty quid at 7-2 for example.

Means you have a guaranteed profit of a tenner or ninety quid.

You'd be better just putting the tenner on him to win the KG. And then backing the 7/2 for twenty quid like. You'd have the 90 return on the Gold Cup still and you'd bank more than the tenner profit from KG win.

Over complicating life a bit here imo, with the desire for specials and roll ups.

Can't be bothered to do the maths but you'd need him to go quite short for the GC to actually be better off the back and lay.

Yeah, I was just answering the Question previously.
I rarely do these without good reason.

The 16-1 for LP looks around par to me.

Sorry. Went a bit short on that reply. Kids were playing up

LP is much shorter for the KG than last time I looked. Thought Cheltenham and the GC would suit him better than Kempton and the KG to be honest. So if he was to win the KG it'd be a decent marker. Especially after APT disappointment.

You're right it's probably about par, leaning on the side of being good compared to most of these in terms of value.

                          • Brilliant - the one question mark for me with regards the Gold Cup was whether he can settle after last season. He settled brilliantly there first time up so you'd have to be pleased. Hard to see anything laying a glove on him assuming he stays the trip

                            • Get the feeling we've not even scratched the surface of how good this horse is

The scary thing is given the way he just gallops relentlessly he could well improve for the gold cup trip
