We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Finished 4th in last season Gold Cup and this year, at the moment at least, looks like being an even better renewal. Not much reason to think he'd better that.
Not that he needs the money like I do

Galvin deserves another crack at the GC imo. Yes, he was well beaten (everything was) but he was only 2.5 lengths off 2nd and a shd off placing. He'll be 9 next year so it's probably his last chance at being competitive in the race.
The Cross County is obviously on GEs mind at some stage for him so a price for the 2024 renewal would actually interest me, even though its 18 months away

Galvin was thought of as more an Aintree GN type before his rapid improvement last season and his beating of Gold Cup winner APT in the Savilles. That forced their hand to go for the Gold Cup with him and after yesterday I can't see that changing. Stattler however is in a nice position. He's only on 158 which is just 4lbs above what Ronnie's Rathvinden got after winning the NHC and then going on to place in the National. It'll be interesting what Willie says in his Stable tours re Stattler and whether he does see him as an Aintree type. Ronnie is a very lucky man.
Just taken a quick look at the GN betting and Stattler is fav in several places.Last edited by Lobos; 13 October 2022, 09:32 AM.

If you're making the case that he's not gonna go there because they thought he was Grade 1 class and needs to go sour (a la Delta Work), that's fair enough but the statement didn't read like that to me.
FWIW I agree with others that his destination could be dictated by how good Stattler turns out to be

The owners and trainer in question are hardly Mother Theresa level trustworthy are they ?
And even she was on the rob.

What happens when Delta Work bolts up beating Galvin by 8 lengths?
Interesting to see an entry from Bravemansgame. To be fair to Nicholls, he sent a couple to Ireland last year too (Frodon and Politologue)? Although Frodon did get beat up if and I think Politologue was withdrawn because of an injury.

Would love to see BMG over but I'd imagine it'll be Frodon, who won the race last year.
