That would have to be of interest.
Is it possible to enter a figure in the betslip to find out what the max bet is ?

      Not with Hills unfortunately.

Has a max return of 25k but I'd be surprised if they'd actually stand anything like that
Bravemansgame and Protektorat the only real dangers? Involved in the battle for 3rd...

Horrible, horrible odds imo. You have a horse placed in a Ballymore who is now a King George winner plus a horse placed in last year's Gold Cup who is now a Betfair Chase winner. The odds against one of those two making the places must be huge.

For it to be value I’d not want it to come up testing and then hope BMG runs like folks thinks he will. I think it’s a weather bet ...quite a smart offer actually...though I have indulged a little.

Very smart and sucks people in . All you need is GDC to disappoint at DRF or APT not to turn up and you are left with very little hope.

I agree on the surface it is an enticing offer and then you realise the brits have three horses, the chances of one improves significantly on g-s and two that increase significantly on soft or worse....

It sucked me in and then I reflected a little too late and thought that might not have been my smartest ever bet....although it has a lot of competition

It's only those two with a chance of placing isn't it? I'd say dutching them to place you'd get odds of about 1/4 ... Factor in a lively outsider for the Brits and the the 5/1 offered for the Irish 1,2,3 is probably about right.

Yea I'd fancy just playing a tricast or 2 with the main Irish protagonist on the day of the race.

Maybe that'd be shitter odds.. am not sure

                          • I know its terrible!! 2000 was the last one to do the double, if I read that right from Gaultstats

Now called the Cotswold Cup Cheltenham Trials day. A G2. Little Owl (1981), Master Oats (1995) and Looks Like Trouble (2000). First became a recognised Gold Cup Trial in ’95 when Master Oats did the double. Since then only winners to have competed in both are Looks Like Trouble (2000), See More Business ’99 was third in January before winning the Gold Cup that year. 2016 Djakadam fell in January and then 2nd here. Smad Place won in January, 6th here. 2016 Thistlecrack outstayed by warrior Many Clouds. In the last 10 yrs only Santini, Neptune Collonges and The Giant Bolster have come from this race to be placed in GC. Native River 4th here last year having won the rescheduled at Wincanton. Chantry House from Santini.

Just to add to what Saxon has said, after doing the Cheltenham trends I was reminded how poor a recent record this race has for the Gold Cup:

                                2022
                                1st - Chantry House - PU Gold Cup - Henderson 8YO
                                2nd - Santini - 8th Gold Cup - Gundry 10YO
                                3rd - Aye Right - 9th Gold Cup - Harriet Graham 9YO
                                2020
                                1st - Santini - 2nd Gold Cup - Henderson 8YO
                                2nd - Bristol De Mai - 9th Gold Cup - NTD 9YO
                                2019
                                2nd - Elegant Escape - 6th Gold Cup - Tizzard 7YO
                                2018
                                1st - Definitly Red - 6th Gold Cup - Ellison 9YO
                                2nd - American - 9th Gold Cup - Fry 8YO
PU - Tea For Two - 7th Gold Cup - Nick Williams 9YO
                                2017
                                3rd - Smad Place - 8th Gold Cup - Alan King 10YO
                                2016
                                1st - Smad Place - 6th Gold Cup - Alan King 9YO
                                F - Djakadam - 2nd Gold Cup - Willie (IRE) 7YO
                                PU - O'Faolains Boy - 7th Gold Cup - Curtis 9YO

662P is the current form of the winners, with HMS Santini being the best faring winner of last 6 years.
