Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

So right, very few horses with injuries such as his come back at the level they previously were (or better than that, which is what maybe needed).

Chambers only said he was trotting still and that’s clearly no serious work done yet. You get the feeling as soon as he starts that he’ll get injured again. To me it sounded more more of a hope and pray for him and that the deadline was yesterday and they thought why not, will just cost more down the line to enter him.

Even though I loved him in his novice days he will never win a GC now

    • I hope I can be forgiven for being less of a Monkfish fan, having taken note of the chat on here and bagged 66s on Latest Exhibition

      • If Monkfish comes back and wins a Gold Cup, I'd be shocked and delighted that I'd have just witnessed that. Easiest decision ever to leave him well alone money wise. From my point of view that's a win win.

        • The stats on horses winning grade 1s at the festival having not raced in 90 days are pretty stark, but if there's a trainer who eats stats for breakfast (and washes them down with a steaming hot cup of trends) it's W P Mullins.

          not for me though Jeff

Apologies, it was me who relayed he was out after reading it in Mark Howard's Christmas update. If any consolation, he's still a big price and if he does get a run into him beforehand, he'll surely command big 'win today and...' odds

No need to apologise. That bloke Howard should!

                  • Mullins ....'Talking of the Gold Cup, we entered a few horses you haven’t seen for a while and both Monkfish and Capodanno are riding out and going alright.
Monkfish, it will probably be hard for him to make the Gold Cup but he deserved an entry, I’m not sure that I’d want to press him to make the Gold Cup this year.

Capodanno is fit and well and if I get a run into him beforehand he’ll probably take his chance in the line-up at Cheltenham.'

                    • Stattler one more run before GC. Mullins very happy with his Tramore run.

                      • Think Galopin will stay and win, but Stattler is an excellent ew bet. Loves Cheltenham, stays all day, and if Galopin does not stay, this fella ticks a lot of boxes for me.

                        • I have Capo from a long while back so i thought my bet was toast.

I can still see him maybe not doing much at the festival but then winning the Punchestown version instead.

Stattler looks the standout ew atm

Agree. He's still a very workable EW price too and the 'without GDC' market may be worth holding on for as well to get the Win/Win feeling.

                            • Minella Indo being completely ignored despite having a better Cheltenham record than Stattler and beating Stattler, and being a bigger price.
