Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Thats still very very good! He was an insulting price at 40 let alone 80.

        • There are obvious risks with backing APT at this stage, and there is a decent argument that FP is vulnerable to new kids on the block like HBTL and Teahupoo. However, the APT/FP double looks really big at 89-1 with Bet365 does it not?

Totally agree and at the prices you don't need too much on to make it worthwhile.

            • Given there's no native river and no real obvious front runners I imagine the gold cup will be similar to last year and it'll be a sprint for home from the bend
I'd imagine lhomme presse may make it and conflated will be prominent but there will be no punishing gallop to make it a proper test of stamina

You'd think it'd be hard for anything else to outsprint Galopin Des Champs or A Plus Tard.

Personally I hope to see galopin des champs just popping away for 3 miles then doing them for a turn of foot

              • You have Ahoy Senor in there who only knows one way to run so it'll be a decent gallop alright.

The only way he knows how to run is straight into every fence

he will be out the back after a mile if he even runs

Yeah probably. Definitely runs according to LR. Aintree after that.

If it’s a sprint like you say my money is on emmets horse ...they need to shake him off by taking him out of his comfort zone else they are in serious trouble imo.

                      • How many Gold Cups have been a sprint finish?

A relative sprint for the distance

I'm not suggesting battaash could win the gold cup hahaha

Haha, I'm not sure how much I believe in the concept though.... the "sprint finish" versus the "true test of stamina"...

In sports day in Year 7, 8 and 9, I won the 100m and 1500m ... I was just fitter & faster than the other kids.... (sounds unbelievable I know - you've seen me) haha

I got beat in Year 12 by a guy called Phil, who ran off at the start and every long distance race I'd ever ran in... I just stayed on their shoulder of the leader, and sprinted past them in the finish..... that year he ran off at the front at the start and I couldn't catch him to sprint past him at the end, despite having the energy for a sprint finish which was moot.

So actually I completely agree .... all about how the race is run.

I suppose my hypothetical in this case then is, with no 'stamina' horse, like a Native River.... would Native River win this edition, again better horses, in his pomp? Is it that straight forward?

Just having stamina, doesn't mean you can grind the class out....

Ultimately I agree with everything you said I think .... my question was easy to answer.... 'yes'!
