Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

  • Wont ever happen but I’d pay good money to watch him v allaho over the intermediate trip

    • Walloped a very solid 2 and a half miler G1 horse.

Seems to be a real sweet spot for superstars at the moment again.

If he stays the trip and performs to his ability, I can only see two horses that could possibly beat him. Allaho is one but he won't run, and APT would need to match his run in this seasons GC to put it up to him.

He oozes class. It just looks effortless.

Got hindsight on my side, but 2015 had Vautour, Faugheen, Hurricane Fly, Douvan, Annie Power, Un De Sceaux, Sprinter Sacre all running at that festival was a pretty special year..... although Coneygree won the Gold Cup and Don Cossack was faffing in the Ryanair, so maybe the main division lacking a superstar at the time takes away a little.

Still, certainly now we look to be on an upward curve!

            • ….Mullins re GDC;

”He’d probably win a 2m Chase, whether he’d win a G1 I’m not sure but we’re going out to the Gold Cup trip which is why I was delighted with how he settled today. He did everything right, I was just hoping nothing stupid happened. It went very well.”

              • I was impressed with the manner in which he settled
He's too short for me to back, which makes me want to look elsewhere at the moment, AP-wise

                • More words from Willie:
“I’ve no plan at the moment where he will run next but he will have another run before Cheltenham. He is a Gold Cup horse and is going for the Gold Cup bar something goes wrong.”

I've said before that my only ante post bets are using free bets and proceeds of free bets and they've all gone on to Galopin until the price dipped below 3/1. Looking quite good now with no downside.

A wise approach, especially as I'm sitting here with no bets on GDC - apart from the GDC and FV to go unbeaten.
Feel I've wasted a few free bets, I may opt for this approach next season

Thanks, will cash out my Ryanair bets then for no loss.

                        • Visually good today but for me his current price still a ?? with a proper G1 3m+ test to prove. Slowly run affair and whilst showing a better temperament in that he looked more the finished article today his cruising speed is as close to Allaho as anything that operates outside of the 2m division and that's what had put distance between rivals today not stamina. The 3rd runs to 150 all day long I don't think Fakir has run near his rating today personally, has all the potentially in the world and not knocking him but if he wins the Irish Gold cup then he should be a 7/4< poke not based on what we've seen today. This is the Gold cup we're talking about there hasn't been a horse go off 6/4< since Bob's worth and he was bidding to go back to back at the time.

                          • Still think GDC may not even go beyond 2 1/2 miles prior to the Fez.

Irish gold cup not the obvious route there now?

You'd think so, there aren't any other real grade 1 options in Ireland that fit when Willie will want to run him

Unless they are happy to step down in grade or come to the uk
