So, declaring him for the Durkan was just a cunning ploy?

Willie just said that they've been told they're aiming to run the Durkan on the 19th. He namechecked it as still first choice for GDC but there would be Leopardstown at Christmas, Tramore and the DRF as other options and he'd like to get 2 runs in before Cheltenham.

Capodanno been weak on exchange last few days also.
No xmas entries.
The Savills at Tramore on NYD will be interesting when the entries for that come out.
Don't look good though.
(thought that the minute I saw the Christmas entries)
That narrows down Willies options a little for this years race.
Galopin and Stattler probably are in the stables no1 and no2 spots for it.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 13 December 2022, 06:30 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

or something like that ... But of course , he might just not be cutting the mustard .
Only 6y/o , so will be on my gold cup list for next year if this year is a wipe out..

It was mentioned recently Q, and someone said ., about not needing the winter ground , maybe one run - d.r.f. .

Mark Howard updated in November he was getting his wind sorted (Capo not Mark) or words to that effect plus a dislike for winter ground meant he'd be held back. However, that doesn't really explain the recent odds drift so could be more to it than that now.

I thought he'd run at Tramore on new years day, ground permitting. Like ABP.
I'll wait and see the entries for that.
