A plus tard as reigning champ and fifteen length winner is not a bad price (imo). Really hope Galopin des Champs turns out to be a gold cup horse, would love to see him in the king George, could see him cruising round like vautour but hopefully not getting caught !

Have a horrible feeling GDC will end up in the Ryanair. Not backed him (yet) for the GC but am heavily invested in Allaho so hoping GDC does stay 3m+. Not convinced though as he shows a lot of speed.

I wouldn't be shocked if gdc ends up in the Ryanair as i also am not entirely convinced he'll stay gold cup trip but hopefully with willie saying he's a gold cup horse he'll at least be campaigned towards it, then if it looks like he won't stay, drop him back for Ryanair.

Different owners of course but you'd think Mullins would at least hope GDC is a Gold Cup horse, rather than challenging his own Allaho in the Ryanair. I'm sure that's the route they'll go down until he's proven not to stay.

Might be going early with this and it turn out crap but it's got the makings of being a good renewal

Conflated at 40/1, Farouk D'Alene 33/1 and Stattler 20/1 are my plays here, of course those at the top of the market could easily be superstars but I'm happy my three represent some sort of value.
As is always the case at this time of year this race looks a belter with plenty in with a chance, we know there'll be casualties but if you can't get excited about the possibility of these taking each other on then you'll never get NH racing...

Seen plenty of people mentioning stattler for this on here and on twitter, I'm tempted to get involved with him as he was pretty impressive last season but one thing surprised me was he never ran again after cheltenham can anyone remember why he never ran at punchestown? Not even sure he was entered now thinking back, does anyone remember willie saying anything in any interviews?

GDC is pretty damn short isn’t he?!?!

feels like we been here before, Vautour… Monkfish…

can recall a horse with his sort of profile winning a gold cup since Kauto ? And they don’t come round thay often

Yeah, I agree, he is short, but GDC looks an absolute tank in fairness, so I've tried getting him onside (some successful, others less so) through roll ups for this race.

I am struggling with this race as a whole though though.

Is it just a case of A Plus Tard again, given how incredibly easy he won it this year?

Could Allaho come here, to ensure Cheveley Park have the best possible hand to win the race for two consecutive seasons? Are they that bothered about a Ryanair, over a Gold Cup?

Ahoy Senor has yet to truly prove he can jump as well going left handed, won't get away with it in a Gold Cup surely?

Was L'Homme Presse 'over the top' by the time Aintree came around? If so he must be a live one for the race.

Monkfish has too many questions to answer?

Stattler could be a live outsider, but is it likely he'll get done for speed at some point during the race?

Something has to win, of course, but I think the bookmakers almost have the market right, maybe with the exception of switching around A Plus Tard (who has already been and done it) with Galopin Des Champs (the big potential).

Agree COD. You get the feeling APT is the forgotten horse this season. Strange to say that about a horse who demolished the GC field this season. He was easily the most impressive winner of the race in recent times. He should be favourite and a good one at that. GDC looks too class but has it all to prove. Coming out of Novice status and taking on older horses. Will he stay? Will he have bad memories of Cheltenham? If Ahoy Senor gets his jumping together I can see him being a huge threat.

Yeah, I hadn't planned on going through the whole market, I'll let others add on who they like then assess from there
