Speaking on Monday, Byrnes said: "Unfortunately he got a bad cut in his Boyne Hurdle win and he was on antibiotics after. We couldn’t do much with him since and we're after stepping his work up now in the last week.
"We gave him a small bit of work at the Curragh this morning. It’s gone late in the day now so we'll see how he works on Friday and make a final decision."
Betfair have been all over the place with several horses in the last week none of which have come to anything so I for one am just ignoring the lot.
The race has been a guess up all Autumn/Winter with injuries, other targets and a lack of quality in the division so I can believe the market turmoil.
Seems to be a bit more confidence in Klassical Dream showing up.
Without wishing to add to the paranoia but if anything Teahupoo looks weak, albeit for tiny liquidity....
I know an owner in the yard... said the word is very much not 100% but more likely to run than not. Will know better Monday. Guess they will work him Friday and give him a couple of days to see how he is.
I agree with CoD.. don't think its antics. They've been quite transparent. Shows you can't really win!
If anyone hasn't seen an over reach injury before this is a textbook example,if it's blown up he won't be running..but it looks a very superficial injury to my eye,I expect it'll have been treated as you would with a horse on the cusp of a championship race & I wouldn't be concerned it'd be enough to stop him from running....UNLESS it did blow up the day after this image was taken.
