I think the best Irish form is Home By The Lee, obviously Flooring Porter is the reigning champ, just got to hope he makes it and I think on a line through Dashel Drasher, Marie's Rock is ahead of Gold Tweet, who probably has the best English form.
Blazing khal beat meet and great a similar distance to home by the Lee giving him 5lb on his first start for 400+ days

Teahupoo beat KD and honeysuckle in the hattons grace

Those are the two best pieces of form available imo

Game of opinions and all that I guess

Blazing khal has never been a backable price for me so not sure what to do with him. Maybe a saver on the day or some doubles with horses I like later on the card.

    hopefully Flooring porter gets there

Nothing remotely suspicious in my view.

The idea that connections would be organising a coup in the Stayers while allowing the horse to go out from 5/2 to 5/1 for the Boyne is far-fetched in my view.
archie Just on that, I was listening to the Betfair Betting podcast (E141) this morning, and Brendan Duke was on talking about this. Apparently he was at the course and spoke to bookies, who said that connections had put down a sizeable sum a couple of minutes before the off on BK after it drifted out to 5/1. Just thought it was worth flagging if anyone wanted to go and listen.

        • Flooring Porter now rated as 70-30 or 80-20% in favour of making the festival.

So just Home By The Lee then?

                Cos it's ya name?

Just kidding - hope Flooring Porter runs for sure!

hate when the reigning champ doesn't run.

Why do you want to take on Teahupoo? Or Blazing Khal? (Price?)

If Flooring Porter runs they're not the right favs I guess?

                  Yeah, that's it

Tbf, Marie's Rock is all NRNB, and strangely I'd prefer her in the Mares Hurdle, as my bets on her for that are not NRNB.

Really hope Flooring runs too, as I too hate races where the reigning champ doesn't run.

I want to take on Teahupoo because I still have real stamina doubts. He won a 'Mickey Mouse' race in winning the Galmoy IMO. The opposition was woefully out of form or not up to any sort of decent level, and I believe (nicking others work here) that the sectionals basically turned it into a sprint finish, which would have suited Teahupoo more than anything else in the race. The Stayers will be a fair test, I imagine, from start to finish. I also think he needs proper cut in the ground, which is kind of a moot point until nearer the time, but it is a Spring festival and it's not normally really soft.

I don't dislike Blazing Khal at all, but I've ultimately missed the price now, on more than one occasion. He was one I was going to back once NRNB came in, but left it, and left it, and now I can't get him onside. My last chance was the WTAF price on Sunday but I completely forgot about it as had too much 'life stuff' going on

There is a chance I might add Blazing Khal to some multiples but that will be it, I think.

                  • Yeah fair enough.

I've not fully got my head into the race yet so don't want to waffle... I'll save it for a podcast

I'm not on Home By The Lee, which is one fav I think you can so easily take on..... but I have no reason to lay at 1/3 when the only reason I'm against is that I'm on t'others!

                    • Charles Byrnes reporting a little setback for Blazing Khal. https://www.irishracing.com/news/Kha...setback/238431 It doesn't appear too significant at this stage and he was probably having 10 days of light work anyway. Something to watch though..

Didn’t he get enough on before the Boyne?

                        • Interesting that SIR GERHARD is now the shortest price of all Willie's entries on the machine.

Klassical Dream very weak - not looking good for him making the trip according to the market.

Reckon a late Sir Gerhard switch to come here - besides being so obvious - is one rabbit Willie could pull out of the hat in the final days before the action starts.

Personally don't see any reason why they'd waste his novice status for a beginners chase imo, he will have learnt plenty from that run and yeah its not ideal going to the festival on the back of 1 chase run, but they've not got any option really. Might aswell throw the dice and see how it works out, I imagine he will be in the BANC instead of the turners as he will line Appreciate It up in that race and the BANC looks very thin on the ground in terms of quality opponents.

This gets mentioned alot at this time of year and although it's a fair point there are so many top novice races yet to be played out this season does it really make sense, halfway through February, before Cheltenham, Aintree, Fairyhouse and Punchestown, to protect novice status for next season ?
Mullins issue, and it's been this way for years, is that he has so much talent in every division, trying to place them/avoid clashes/appease owners is probably his biggest challenge...

                              • From Nicky's latest Unibet stable tour video it very much sounds like Marie's Rock is likely to come here now with Epatante and Theatre being supplemented for the Mares Hurdle.
