  • Gellino Bello has no form in the book to be winning this but I'm still tempted with 20/1 NRNB. He either wins the Cleeve and ends up shorter here or doesn't go surely?

Obviously there's previous with Nichols and sending chasers to the Stayers but I'm not going to make that lazy comparison with BB... Just have.

He is a horse that we bought for little money and who has been an absolute delight. He enjoyed a really good four-year-old season, a good, but tough season and his five-year-old season was even tougher. So, we thought, why not go to England? He has the right profile to race in the UK and we shall see how it goes. If he shows himself competitive, he might return for the Cheltenham Festival, but I think after this start he will have a bit of a break and then return to Auteuil. It’s my first starter in England.

        NRNB seem fair here
loses and I can see Nichols saving him get Aintree where he’ll face lesser and has course form on

        • Teahupoo declared for Thursday over 3m in the Galmoy hurdle. In a race with so many doubts over horses good chance he can make himself near favourite.

He should be winning that without coming off the bridle. A load of older, exposed types, and whilst I feel bad crabbing him before he's even run, it's going to prove nothing in my mind whether he wins it or not.

His main opposition in the race can barely finish a race over 3m themselves. That's a desperate affair and I'll be using Teahupoo in a couple of roll ups if the price is right.

I see his forecast odds are 4/6, I'd take that tbh.

            • The only complication for him is having to give them all 9lb which levels the playing field somewhat

If he wasn't against absolute dross, I'd agree. He's still got 2lbs in hand, and the opposition is woeful. I hope he dots up, like I expect him to as I'll be using him for sure

Depends which beacon edge turns up, if he gets back to his pre chasing hurdles form it won't be easy at all

He didn't get beat far in the stayers hurdle

Hopefully they go a good gallop and he proves his stamina and wins

If it's the same Beacon Edge as his last 4 starts he wouldn't win if he started now

He was way too short at around the 7 mark he was yesterday, probably just finding his place in the market now, still so many question marks around his fitness let alone his form from last year, GB may give us a gauge on that this weekend!

Also his hurdling was sketchy last year I’m not sure how much improved that can be given his lack of racing!
