You can just call the BHA and ask what your horses handicap mark would be if it doesn't already have one and it's had the right amount of runs, you can even debate it with them if you're feeling cheeky, remember one of the n issues horses they said they'd have it at 60 odd,she said it's more a 50 odd horse,so they settled on 55..it got beat a short head as well.

Gordon Elliott hopes Hatton’s Grace Hurdle winner Teahupoo can spring another shock and give the trainer his breakthrough victory in the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Despite having sent out 34 winners at the festival, Elliott has never won the Stayers' and seven-time winner Teahupoo is one of three entries for the yard alongside fellow Grade 1 winner Sire Du Berlais and Zanahiyr.
Teahupoo became the first horse to beat dual Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle, at Fairyhouse in December, when the Robcour-owned six-year-old was sent off a 20-1 chance, and is 12-1 with the race sponsors to score another top-level success in March.
He has yet to run over three miles, but that does not concern Elliott, who is eager to get another run into Teahupoo before the festival.
"We’re happy with Teahupoo," said Elliott. "You’ll probably see him again at Gowran. He’ll more than likely go for the Galmoy Hurdle [on January 26].
"I thought the last time he ran that he’ll stay the trip as he wasn’t stopping. We’ll be able to see for ourselves after the Galmoy. Sire Du Berlais and Zanahiyr are fine after Leopardstown. I’m not sure what to do with Zanahiyr yet, these are still early entries."
Teahupoo was among 28 entered in the Stayers' Hurdle on Tuesday, with the top five in the betting with Paddy Power all trained in Ireland.
His fellow Irish-trained rivals could include Home By The Lee, Klassical Dream, the long-absent Blazing Khal and dual Stayers' Hurdle winner Flooring Porter.
His trainer Gavin Cromwell hopes he will bounce back from two recent defeats to win for the third year in a row – an achievement only eclipsed by four-time winner Big Buck's.
Flooring Porter was last seen finishing fourth in the Jack de Bromhead Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown after filling the same position on his seasonal reappearance in the Lismullen Hurdle, but his victories in the last two years have both come at Cheltenham.
"We were disappointed not to win at Leopardstown," said Cromwell. "In hindsight, we probably could have gone quicker. I’m happy with how his preparations have gone."
The Lismullen Hurdle and the Christmas Hurdle were won by the Joseph O’Brien-trained Home By The Lee, who has shortened to 6-1 to deny Flooring Porter his hat-trick following those performances.
"He’ll probably go straight to the Stayers’ Hurdle," said O’Brien. "The track should suit him. His win at Christmas was a big day. It was great to win a Grade 1 at Leopardstown."
Willie Mullins last won the Stayers’ Hurdle with Penhill in 2018 and has plenty of options, with Chacun Pour Soi, Sir Gerhard and long-term absentee Monkfish among his eight entries.

Teahupoo is also one of those horses well worth backing nrnb before his trial imo (10-1 Betfred), it's likely that he either wins, stakes his claim for the Stayers and goes off much shorter than he is now or disappoints and doesn't run in the Stayers.
Yes there's always the grey area where he runs just ok in the Galmoy and still lines up in the Stayers but if he's been a shade disappointing in the Galmoy, then there's also a good chance he doesn't make the Stayers this year as connections decide not to over-face him at this stage as he's still only a 6 year old.

A race with a history of some fantastic multiple winners, Galmoy in the late 80's, Barracouda, inglis drever, big bucks and of course Flooring porter who will be going for his hat trick this year.
We'd all have our favourite from that list mine is probably Barracouda, but arguably the best was surely Big bucks.
Incidentally as you're all probably aware it was an unseating in the hennessey that finally did for his chase career, his trainer paul nicholls reverting him to hurdles and the rest as they say is history. probably one of his best decisions as a trainer.
I found it very interesting that Gelino bello has been given a stayers hurdle entry. His chase career has certainly not gone as would've been hoped so far, after a couple of opening efforts where his jumping wasn't great and also jumped to the right markedly, he fell in the kauto star when never really looking comfortable jumping fences. jumping right wasn't evident over his hurdles, so it's something about the fences you'd think.
So after a good look at his hurdle runs, on the face of it he won a grade 1, albeit a weak one. He chased home blazing khal twice. so not bad really.
His first try at 3 miles at cheltenham he was ridden held up out the back, finished well enough but just never had enough to beat blazing khal. Maybe they were minding him, making sure he got home.
2nd try at 3 miles, grade 1 sefton novice. He was ridden much more prominently, up with skytastic, green book and stag horn. He jumped the last and when asked to put the race to bed he did, very nicely to my eye. the other 3 i mentioned ridden prominent up with the pace finished 8th,9th,10th beaten 30,32 and 47 lengths.
Now I got excited watching this by the 3rd time.
With the uncertainty surrounding blazing khal, his price is rather short. And i'd also like to think that gelino bello if ridden prominently in the stayers, he'd turn the tables with that 1 anyway. Flooring porter is the champ and the one to beat, but 20/1 nrmb @ hills 22/1 with boost gelino bello has entered the picture.
Paul nicholls isn't the type of trainer to enter a horse in a race at cheltenham if he didn't have it as part of his plan.
An entry in the cleeve hurdle is the next step.
Could history be about to repeat itself?

A race where there is always a chance a young improving type, 5 of the last 6 winners have been aged 7. Gelino bello is 7.
I think the NRMB play is risk free, if he wins the cleeve hurdle he goes to the stayers with a live chance, If he loses it's highly unlikely he goes to stayers so money back.
I dont think there's any scenario where he runs in the stayers without a real chance.

So I hope he'll now be being trained with the stayers hurdle in mind, IF he is entered in the cleeve, IF he wins (really not inconceivable) I'd be very surprised if he wasn't installed as the favourite.

going by bonjers though seems to be aiming at the Reynoldstown so at the minute wouldnt be one for me to tie up funds.
