That's a fair bit. Doubt they'll supplement anything at that cost compared with prize money.

Especially when the same owner could have shishkin, and Mullins could have blue lord, chacun, janidil etc. neither party would look in need of another runner badly enough to stump up 15k. They might just let him take his chance in the stayers if klassical dream doesn’t make it.

You'd need a top 4 finish to make a profit on the supplementary entry, even then after transport, racing plates, lads wage you'd come out maybe 2.5 / 3k in front if placing 4th,Not sure I'd bother myself coming off the back of a fall,I'd be looking for a easier confidence booster myself with half an eye on Melling chase afterwards.

This is a very fair point, people will automatically say the owners, but i remember Ruby walsh saying on Road to cheltenham something along the lines of Willie was pretty livid that Haut en couleurs was missed of the entries for the ryanair.
I did also get the feeling from that episode it's something that could happen though, but that's just my own opinion of course.

Coral Cup maybe if the handicapper doesn't add too much tax to his 148

148 was prior to the last run, 155 in IRE so Coral Cup out the window off 156+.

He doesn't currently have an irish hurdle rating does he?

No he doesn't tad hasty on my part that, thou his last two hurdle runs both placed in g1 juvenile events won't help them to argue it should be significantly lower since his chasing exploits. I would imagine they'd rate him similarly in both codes given how he's been campaigned and a career best lto can't imagine much discrepancy.

i couldn't disagree with you there
but he was given a bha performance rating of 147 for his triumph hurdle 3rd.
a rating around that figure could also be a possibility.
i think personally he wins the red mills at gowran and gets supplemented for the ryanair.

Yeah thou the assessor could easily say well the Triumph 3rd you're surrounded by 150+ types, and at Punchestown tie him in with Zanahiyr again loosely for all some have improved and some haven't. You've then lined up in 4x G1s and looked set to win an open g2, tough sell

You would actually make a loss if finishing 4th! The $19875 4th place prize money would be reduced to $16762 after taking out Trainer, Jockey, Stable Staff deductions. Then subtract another ?2000 plus to cover transportation, immigration and other paperwork (easily ?800 each) and grooms fees for 2-3 days (minimum). You would be down at least ?1000 if finishing 4th - it's a tough call if you do the financial evaluation. But, then again, what owner actually does that?
