      ….wow, that was tough.

Not much change in the market after that, Fakir a best price 7-1 with French Dynamite out to 25s.

          • Slightly odd given Mullins enters plenty in everything that the unlucky faller doesn’t hold one. They prob wish they did after that, will crunch the numbers later but looked set for a career best!

            • You'd think that HEC will be supplemented now for this if he is fine after that fall. To me the winner of this will only come from either Allaho, Blue Lord, Shishkin or HEC

Yep I figured the win would have paid for the fee now it’ll be interesting to see what they do.

Tbf I don’t think he’s lost all enthusiasm for the game, he’s just in no mans land now. He didn’t look a strong stayer as a younger horse and today is proof that getting older hasn’t made him any better in that regard. I’d say 2m is still his trip as he travelled well to a point but he just doesn’t jump well enough anymore to win big races at that trip. So I don’t know where they go with him now, try and pick up some weaker 2m races I suppose.

                  • How much is the supplementary fee for this? I see that the fee for the Gold Cup is ?29,040 and ?20,793 for the champion hurdle. You'd say it would be max ?20k lowest ?10k

To me fakir was staying on there and it would have been close. Id certainly fancy fakir to finish ahead of him again, like he did at punchestown when they met off level weights and would do again at Cheltenham. Although obviously fakir may not go either

He just didn’t stay did he, horses that are “gone at the game” don’t travel into races as well as he did! He’s understandably not at the level he once was but to stay that is a bit OTT.

He was well booked for third, off the bridle a long way out, hard to be bullish after that.

                            • I’ve come to this conclusion after that race.. Mullins wins this with…

                              - Allaho if he’s back
                              - Blue Lord if Allaho doesn’t turn up

                              this division is dog rubbish

Blue Lord at 3/1 NRNB is the bet for me right now I’m acca’s. I’m sure you’ll be about to get Allaho at his current NRNB price on the day

’He will potentially go back to Ascot for the Grade 1 he won last year, then we’ll look at the Ryanair & Aintree’.
