I’d agree, he started in the John Durkan last season so unless he’s going straight to that or King George I wouldn’t be concerned.
I wonder if Cheveley Park would be happy with only Envoi going King George so WPM doesn’t need to deviate from his usual Allaho route. JD, Grade 2 Jan, Ryanair and back to Punchestown.
No surprise as he's a spring horse and usually starts in the durkan
Yeah, Ruby on the PP YouTube video that they released said he's a stuffy horse, I think Willie has mentioned this in the past too. I guess he takes a bit of time to get ready.

If this 'setback' to Allaho becomes a bigger issue, who would people actually fancy for this race? Envoi Allen will be popular now I suppose. I had a small bet on Edwardstone a while back just in case anything happened with Allaho. With talk of possibly stepping him up in trip later in the season, I assume Edwardstone will be targeted toward whichever race looks weakest between the Ryanair and the QMCC.
For Mullins, it seems they're set on GDC as a Gold Cup horse, which they should obvs target ahead of this race anyway. Ferny Hollow? Blue Lord? Both would need to step up in trip.
Away from Mullins, could Bravemansgame end up here? Nicholls has said he probably wouldn't get the Gold Cup trip.
I'm aware I'm rambling, just thinking out loud really in what could become a very open race.

Likely be another Mullins horse like Ferny or Blue Lord. Would Henderson put Shishkin up in trip if the race was for the taking?
Fakir possibly - he wins the other 2 and a half mile grade 1s.
It becomes a pile on if Allaho doesn't turn up. All of the above plus Alan King has talked about Edwardstone going up in trip, Conflated may have another go after falling last year and possibly any other Gigginstowners who do well this year.
Possibly unlikely but WPM could always up Energumene in trip who he knows will excel at the trip.
If Ferny looks top class in a couple of races pre DRF and then proves himself at the DRF he may just do that. Champion chase looks weak other than what WPM’s got imo. All hinges on how shishkin comes back.
