I can’t think right now of a horse that so many have underestimated more, both last season and into this season.
Well imo he can’t be knocked now after that yesterday.
Imagine if that was Energumene winning like that yesterday.
For a first run out of novice company over fences it was very impressive and he is a worthy rival to Energumene.
And I'm a big fan of the reigning champ.

Hes a bit like Con Hill, in that he settles so well, jumps economically and can be switched off early on. Both these horses waste absolutely no energy during the race, so when they need to they have plenty left.

Arkle winners/runner ups generally do make the grade in open company, I remember a similar discussion when Put The Kettle On/Fakir Doudaries' Arkle was described by many in here as weak/poor, it just stands to reason that if you're among the best 2m Novice chasers then you're likely to among the best 2m chasers out of novice company....

Have to agree, he just doesn’t look anywhere near the horse he was. His jumping has become scrappy , and as you say he just looks like he’s not enjoying himself.
They can try stepping him up so he can go a slower pace, and it would be great if that worked, but personally I have severe doubts.

Watched the Tingle Creek back again. Boy did Eddie quicken between the last two. Was upside Greaneteen one second and the next was 4 lengths clear and put the race to bed very easily. Can't wait to see him run again. Sounds like one more race then the Fez.

Anyone who bet Ferny antepost with his injury record probably needs to seek medical help themselves
