Won at Aintree after missing Cheltenham this year, so a repeat could well be on the cards?
I suspect a conversation with JP and WPM will be had re Energumene and whether or not GDM stands a chance in beating him. WPM will probably know, but then it depends on what GDM does on track. He put in the best 2m novice performance of the season last year so if he progresses further and runs well, they might roll the dice.

Well, seeing as some thought Greaneteen was out for a stroll today, that win must put him right back in the picture. Lumps of weight away and dots up.

Doesn't bode well for the Edwardstone form (and I'm one of his backers )

He's a proper horse. Unbelievable jumper of a fence at speed.

PN said he was a lot more forward this year. Looked it too ! Tingle Creek repeat a distinct possibility after that. GDM and Edwardstone will have their work cut out beating him.

Yes I'm glad I read the quote from Nicholls saying he's done much more work with him as had a saver on my war lord bet (who looked like he needed much further)

Can see him being very tough to beat in the tingle creek

War lord and TTL didn't do much for the form of last season's novices, looked badly out of depth despite receiving a huge amount of weight

TTL is a complete dog of a horse, not a fan at all

A little concerning already, these novices from last season getting walloped in open company, I guess it same old same old - difficult for novices to convert the following season

It happens every year early season.
Although they are not the best examples as they weren't exactly A grade novices. And destined for handicaps most likely.

Was anyone really expecting them to take to open company? I thought they looked a bang average group of novices tbh

Over the years there's not many that make the step up, same re the novice Hurdlers. Good job really or else we wouldn't have a hope in hell picking out any future Festival winners !

Gentleman De Mee declared for the Grade 3, Poplar Chase, at Naas on Saturday.

seen this earlier probably explains the decision making of WP

Odd condition of Poplar Square "4lb allowance for horses that hadn't won a chase by 4 Feb 22." Its Intermediate not Novice & leaves Ferny Hollow with 4lb more than Gentleman De Mee despite both winning Gr 1 novices. Both have same in Fortria, wonder if GDM goes to Naas & FH Navan”

Am I right in saying that in Willie's latest stable tour he said Ferney would go down the intermediate route? Does that mean Ryanair as opposed to Champion Chase or am I reading it wrong?

                                think you're reading it wrong.
