Hello Fat Jockeys,

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

    • ….Blue Lord into 5/2 with PP/BFSB.

      • Be surprised if Energumene is riden like that in March. He doesn't have the blazing speed that is typical of a 2 mile chaser, his game is built around his high cruising speed and stretching them from the front. Going to be an exciting renewal in March, hopefully they all get there again in one piece

        • I thought Energumene jumped really well going round bar that error at the end, and then his race was over. If he's OK, you'd think he'd be setting his own fractions out in front if he comes back here in March. Great ride by Houlihan though.

Not entirely sure Blue Lord is still destined here. Might be a bookie over reaction. Maybe their assuming there is something wrong with Energumene?

You’d just want 2 darts if you were Willie after that wouldn’t you? He might’ve won for the error but I had him 3rd fav at that point.

Problem is if they go in front on Energumene and get taken on by Editeur Du Gite for the lead they might set each other alight and get racing from the second fence,in which case neither of them will be winning, going a good clip infront is one thing, racing pace for the best part of a mile & 3/4's,they'd be setting it up for Edwardstone and possibly Blue Lord if he comes here.

                Absolutely.
Tactically a very difficult choice for Energumene.
Willie would want Blue Lord held up if he wants Energumene more forward, for sure, just in case they do too much.
Old course next time also, which will make a difference.

Daryl Jacob will be in Pauls ear for the next few weeks telling him to stick with Energumene I reckon as that Blue Lord ride would be his highlight for the week, although if Paul did jump ship from Energumene who would we like to see ontop,I'd nominate Danny Mullins if it's going to be a tactical ride from the front.

Yes. Agreed, but if Allaho doesn't show up for the Ryanair, then you'd expect Willie to put Blue Lord there. Sounds like one of those decisions that may not be made until final decs.

Indeed. Although I’d say that confirms that Willie will be supplementing HEC for the Ryanair.

                      • You'd hope he does,Blue Lord does look a bigger, stronger horse this season so far & has already shown the trip would hold no fears, the Ryanair without Allaho looks very winnable if you have a G1 horse to aim at it so it'd make more sense for BL to go there imo.

                        • I can't forgive Blue Lord for not winning the Arkle last year. So I really struggle to take to him. He's likely to have an easy time at the DRF though so could be well supported after that.

I do think Allaho is probably key to where he ends up though.

                          • Ruby on Road to Cheltenham last night did say that Allaho is working well and in full training, something along those lines anyway, it sounded like he will be at the festival.

It's a shame we can't take that at face value

Sure Ruby said Thursday things were going well with Allaho, so I’m expecting him there.
